Located in Saint-Martin-Vésubie, 28 mi from Bordighera, villa pura vida provides a shared lounge and free WiFi. The room was very very clean, well laid out and practical and with everything we needed. The owners were lovely and came to welcome us with vegetables from the garden and offered us anything we needed for our six month old baby and more!! The appartement was only 5 minutes into the center on the village with a lovely view of the mountains a perfect spot to be able to visit the attractions and hiking paths. If we ever come back to this region again i would definitely come back here. We had a lovely time and a lot of that was due to our hosts and their hospitality :))

The Vesubie Mountain Park is a fantastic day out! Great for the adventurous.. The village is small but pretty with a few good restaurants for lunch and for beers after the day. The views are also great and many lovely nature walks around.
Care if you come in September, many of the towns facilities have closed as summer by local standards has finished!! Local market was interesting and the town has 3 bus services (90) from tram stop Grande Areneas in Nice. It Changed in September, 2019.
Just 1.5 hours drive from Nice airport this pretty and traditional mountain village is an ideal spot for visiting the Mercantour Parc in the Southern Alps. We visited in March for hiking and snowshoe walking. The Tourism Centre has all the information you need. A serie bleu French walking map at large 1:25000 scale is worth buying (map 3741 OT). There are plenty of restaurants and a brasserie to eat out with several small supermarkets for the essentials. The salon du the has excellent packed lunches at a reasonable rate. At the bottom of the village is an amazing new €55m Vesubie Mountain Parc with indoor facilities for canyoning, climbing, caving and potholing and a swimming pool and theatre/cinema too. For the snowshoe walking we drove the 15 minutes to the higher village of Le Boreon where there are snowshoe walking and cross-country ski trails. They start from the Alpha Wolf Parc and all equipment can be hired there. Good restaurant there too, Visit the Alpha Wolf Parc during the feeding time (3:30pm when we visited). The last 500m drive to Le Boreon is steep with hairpin bends so winter/all season tyres (and snow chains) may be required in winter (hired at extra cost with Sixt rentals) and after heavy snow and sharp frosts. Just across the valley is the perched village of Venanson which is worth visiting (10-minute drive) for panoramic views over Saint Martin Vesubie. We were recommended a car tour back down the valley to the village of Utelle and above the village is an amazing 360 degrees viewpoint and chapel at the Madone d'Utelle. On a clear day you can see Mont Blanc to the North and Corsica to the South!
