Quiet room, very comfortable bed, nice location. The staff was very helpful, we had late check in and it's was not too much trouble.

Reason for our visit was to visit the Basillica. Very nice. No problem with parking & was free. Also found an EXCELLENT vegan restaurant, la Fougassier. Can't recommend highly enough. Food superb. Returned to same restaurant for an evening meal & there was live music in their vaulted cellar restaurant, country & Beatles. Prices very good. Host attentive.

I visited Saint Maximin la Saint Baume as part of my personal Camino. Highlights for me were: the Grotto of Saint Mary Magdalene. It is advertised as a 45 minutes.walk but took me over an hour & 15 mins as I am not fit plus I stopped a few times in the sacred forest of the druids which is full of rare and unique plant species. No matter what the weather, bring a jacket or sweatshirt. The grotto is chilly. Grab a stick (you will find them left on the path by other hikers) especially for the descent as some of the steps are slippy in parts. I also visited the Basilica of St. Mary Magdalene and the crypt where St. Mary Magdalene is buried and her reliquary.

Parking was free in the town car park (which was guarded between 7pm and 8 am) and it was only a five minute walk to the hotel. There was plenty of room in the room we were given (but it might be because we were only two people, but got given a three bed room). Central location with a pretty view of the city centre & the accessibility of the main city streets and amenities is outstanding.
