Located in a typically Basque village, surrounded by greenery, this rustic hotel has a shaded garden backing onto the River Nive. Its spacious terrace offers panoramic mountain views. A beautiful location with welcoming staff and a very comfortable room with a great shower! Although we didn't have breakfast, we had dinner on the terrace one evening and the food was excellent. The girl at reception ( who also works as the waitress) was lovely.

Set in Saint-Michel,is located 5.6 mi from saint jean pied de port, the last inn before spain. AUBERGE BORDA features a shared lounge, garden, terrace, and free WiFi throughout the property. The host was most accommodating. The place was newly renovated, very thoughtfully laid out. Our meal was delicious, shared family style with other pilgrims. The sleeping rooms were shared but each bed had a privacy dark out curtain. Made for a great sleep! Overall, fabulous experience.

Ideal stop if you want to begin the Camino on the same day that you arrive in St.Jean Pied de Port.It gives you a head start on the long slog to Roncesvalles the following morning. Wear mosquito repellant! Not that there were many around but one persistent moquito got into our bedroom and did plenty of damage! It was the 1st time I've been bitten in 5 years of doing various stages of the Camino.
