Puyleger is located in a quiet part of north west Dordogne, close to the border with Charente, and provides a haven for nature lovers. In the short time we were there we saw deer, wild boar and birds of prey, all close to the property. There is no noise or light polution and Janet and John provide the most amazing service. Breakfast was a dream, with choice of egg dishes, and always with fresh orange, coffee and of course croissants. And home produced honey (Johns's bees) and their own fruit trees. They also arranged a 3 course dinner each night, using all local produce. OMG the meals were fantastic. They are talented chefs. Janet and John are the most thoughtful hosts, they are respectful of privacy and know exactly how to make your stay as comfortable as possible. I would always stay at this B&B as everything and everyone is simply perfect. JUST AMAZING.

Property was extremely clean and the beds super comfortable. Located far enough from the main roads to ensure a peace and quiet throughout our stay. Private pool within seconds of the main property (though not heated so can be cool in the mornings!)

Lovely hosts who couldn’t more helpful. It’s very rustic and French but that is what makes it so charming. Lovely breakfast and the hosts work around your timetable. We travelled with my brother and his wife so we had the house to ourselves which was perfect.

Amazingly quiet but still close to towns with a short drive. The bed was very comfortable. The host was very kind with gifts from her garden. The spa was super. The booking was great value for money

This gite far exceeded our expectations. The photos don't do it justice, it is beautifully renovated and extremely comfortable. We had the best time here and our hosts couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. It was deceptively large and spacious being the middle of a run of cottages also so quiet and private. Very well equipped with everything we could possibly need. It was in the middle of nowhere yet close enough to towns and villages for all you could want. No light polution so the starry skies were just amazing too.

I loved every thing about this place. The staff were wonderful to me, welcome do warm, especially in the resturant. And leaving the next morning, my bags were carried for me and the bike seat dried off and even the head waiter came out to say goodbye. Food excellent. Chef came out yo see us all.. wonderful rxperience
