    We Didn’t like Toulon. Large, busy place. The main town wasn’t nice and not somewhere I would want to walk around. Beaches were very average - dusty shingle rather than sand. I wouldn’t return or recommend. We included the visit in a stopover.

    Interesting city - great market, super eating in the old indoor market, great atmosphere - a chance to meet interesting people and chat. Good public transport in and around - excellent coastal walks from St Mandrier (access via the boat-bus).

    My wife and I recently spent three enchanting nights in Toulon, and we wished we could have stayed longer! Nestled in the vibrant pedestrian zone, our stay was nothing short of perfect. The location was ideal, allowing us to explore the charming streets, local boutiques, and delightful cafes with ease. The highlight of our trip was undoubtedly the rooftop pool at our hotel, offering stunning views of the city. The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. Although we didn’t opt for the hotel breakfast, the nearby restaurants and coffee shops provided plenty of delicious options to start our day. We also discovered some phenomenal sandy beaches just a 20-30 minute drive from the city. These beaches were perfect for a relaxing day by the sea, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to our trip. If you’re planning a visit to Toulon, we highly recommend staying in the pedestrian zone. It’s the perfect spot to immerse yourself in the local culture and enjoy a truly relaxing getaway. We can’t wait to return!

    Loved the port and the naval base / ships.

    Loved the port and the naval base / ships. Loved the street markets. Loved the bars and cafes in the old town. We didn't really need a car in Toulon - the station is walking distance from the port and you can walk to everything except beaches (which you can take a boat to reach from the waterfront. Prices are reasonable. It is not a Moviestar / Celebrity spotting location like so many places on the Cote de Azure. It is populated by genuine and friendly local people plus some tourists.

    We went to spent time with the family, the location was secondary importance. The house was nice but overall the part of the town we saw is not so pretty, lots of closed military installations. We did not do our research properly and expected a smaller, more touristic, coastal town. The Faron is nice and you have the beaches. For us it worked. Best pastries of my life at Chanteclair.

    I had been to Toulon several years ago with mates for a rugby weekend but coming back this time, again for the Rugby World Cup we decided to stay close to the beach and harbour and found the location, and the city just a fantastic place to spend a few days towards the end of the summer.

    This hotel is very conveniently located for the centre of Toulon and is only just up the road from the ferry terminal, which was important for me because I had to catch a ferry very early the next morning. It is a little old-fashioned, but the staff were all helpful and friendly, and I was provided with a quiet, very convenient room on the first floor. It was comfortable and clean, ideal for me and my dog and cat, and there was not too much carrying involved because it was near the stairs.

    We had a lovely stay at this well-equipped apartment in Toulon. It had everything we needed, and we even cooked dinner ourselves one night, which was a nice bonus. The location was excellent—close to cafes, shops, the port, and just a short walk to the train station. It was a comfortable and convenient base for exploring the city. I definitely recommend this place!

    The size of the apartment and all the amenities were great. Having a glass of wine overlooking the port at sunset was also special. The location was very central and easy to get a good meal along the waterfront. We happened to be there when the Toulon rugby team was playing and the apartment was only a short walk away. Even better we watched Toulon win!

    We extended our stay with another night. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Room is big enough and clean. Location is close to station, port and bus stops. Toulon is beautiful and worth a visit while staying in this hotel.
