This chalet-style hotel is decorated in a typical Alpine style and is located in Val d’Isère, a 5-minute walk from the ski station and 50 metres from the free ski shuttle bus. The Avancher is a great hotel - the rooms are spacious, modern, very clean and the beds were great! The breakfast is fantastic and the spa is superb - everything you need to start and end a good day of skiing :-) Do note that it's located a few hundred meters from the village center, but it's not really a problem. There's a bus going every few minutes up and down the main street, with a stop some 150m from the hotel. It will get you to any of the lifts, and when not carrying your skis, it's a nice stroll to the village center.

Situated just 50 metres away from the ski slopes, Hotel La Galise is ideally located in the heart of Val-d’Isere, in the Espace Killy ski area. The breakfast was everything I needed and the choice was excellent. The location is very central for all amenities and for skiing. The room and bed were very comfortable and the hotel staff were helpful and accommodating.

Hotel Avenue Lodge is located in the heart of the famous Val d’Isere ski resort, just 250 metres from the ski lift. It features a spa centre with a hammam, sauna and indoor pool. The staff went above and beyond when my stepson was ill and had to go to hospital. Can't thank them enough for that. Thankfully he has fully recovered.

The number and the quality of the lifts is over the general standards of Europe (as I’ve been skiing over 40 years in numerous destinations in Europe) providing easy access between Val d’isere and Tignes.

Val d'Isere is an upscale Alpine French village -- English is widely spoken, there are many small restaurants/bars, tons of ski/board shops for purchase or rental, pharmacy/medical facility, walk to everhyting, extremely friendly to visitors. The mountains, being among the highest in the Alps, retain good skiing, at altitude, for the entire ski season (the mountain closes May 1). During our visit, there were only a few feet of snow on the slopes (a low-snow year for the Alps), but the snow/skiing was excellent. Being somewhat remote, the village tends to be less overcrowded, even on holidays/blue bird days, than places like Trois Vallees, Megeve, St. Anton ... Lots of hotels, chalets, BnBs ... Generally, a wonderful ski destination for Alpine snow lovers!

Val d’isere is a world class resort Incredible and famous ski terrain - you can’t ski the whole place in a week - and that is rare and special The off piste and possibilities to explore the mountains further then the piste are also plentiful The town and the entertainment are perfect - wonderful apres ski, with great bars, live music, fun clubs The range of food on the slopes and in the town is of extremely high quality - but you should book all the best restaurants in advance

Val d'Isere was absolutely beautiful The town was picturesque, we stayed the week before Christmas and it was like a winter wonderland, so special. There were lots of different places to eat, 2 supermarkets. Lots of different ski schools and great green runs for the beginners as well as lots more advanced runs. We were within walking distance to the chair lift, it was brilliant. Friendly staff in shops & restaurants. Would love to go back!!

My favourite place to ski, has something for everyone. Most of all snow sure and back to resort skiing. Town and Mountain run extremely efficiently with great bus service. Fully integrated lift system for vast area, lots of mountain restaurants at all price points and finally masses of off piste.

Lovely village with a great ski area which is good for intermediate + skiers. Lift facilities etc are very good. Overall it is quite pricey and very busy at peak times so you’ll need to try and book restaurants and budget accordingly. Local bus is great and regular (free with ski pass). If you are self catering and you can buy food in the main towns below the mountains then I would recommend as it will be a lot cheaper.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Our room was spacious, clean, warm and modern but without loosing the charm. There was plenty of wardrobe space and we had a large balcony overlooking the piste and main ski lifts but sat in a quiet space. A ski room with heated boot warmers. A lovely lounge/ bar area. Definitely a ski in and out hotel a short walk to town. The staff were pleasant and helpful, they organised our ski passes for collection on arrival and also reserved an underground parking space opposite the hotel.

We were really impressed with this hotel. We loved it because of the people working here: it's a 4 star hotel but 5 star service. Every single member of staff we met went out of their way to help. I had a lot of pre trip queries and requests prior to our stay, and the reception team responded quickly and positively. The team at breakfast and at dinner were superb. Ski hire through Jerome was very easy too! The hotel has clearly recruited a great team. We would stay here again.

The apartment was well designed with an excellent floor plan for our family. Each bedroom with its own bathroom and tub/shower. Even the kitchen was stocked with cooking oil, condiments. We would 100% stay here again and recommend to friends.

The front desk staff was nice but didn't speak any English so it was a little challenge figuring out our booking, payment etc but we worked through it. Location is great right in Val d'isere proper and easy walk to anything and everything you'd want to do in town and to slopes. Private free parking behind building was also a plus. The price was right for the location as every other lodging in town is ridiculously priced.

The hotel location was exceptional being so close to the lifts, town centre & restaurants, Nice breakfast that set us up for the day. A bar & drinks in the evening & a welcome drink on New Year`s Eve was a lovely touch. Really nice sauna which was great after a full days skiing. Would happily return another year.

Boot room has lockable lockers which were fab, felt super safe with leaving all the ski equipment in the boot room. Hotel staff were super helpful and if we needed any advice they were very knowledgable and kind.

Lots of restaurants and bars within a three minute walk . Pay more for a superior room and it’s bigger and you get a great view of the mountains as opposed to a town view from the smaller bedrooms .

Friendly hotel, it is aptly named! I stayed at Victoria Lodge with my wife and two kids in a family room which was perfect. The staff is indeed very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is amazing with a lot of fresh and homemade food, including lactose and gluten free. The spa is very nice. The wifi is super fast. We had a great stay and are looking forward to coming back soon.

The hotel is lovely.. staff very friendly with great food and superb atmosphere. The Lausanant lift is one minute in a frequent free bus and there was no waiting to get up the slopes! Ski swim to Daille and have a drink in the bar and take the free bus up to the hotel. Car park is under the hotel but a little pricey at €17.5 a night!
