Pretty and extensive medieval centre, very photogenic, lovely shops and eateries. Similarly the port area directly adjacent. If you're going by car the roads and one-way systems are horrible. Head for large car parks rather than try street parking. There are also strange experimental bus lanes that run up the middle of the road and have right of way crossing in front of you. Delightful old town with plenty of good bars and restaurants – beautiful medieval buildings, gardens and a harbour. Well worth exploring – and possibly a good base to explore the surrounding gulf area, which looked really interesting.
