Little Omaha, a property with a garden, is located in Vierville-sur-Mer, a 9-minute walk from Omaha Beach, 1.7 miles from Omaha Beach Memorial, as well as 2.3 miles from Omaha Beach Memorial Museum. Location, kitchen, the feeling of home away from home. The town is cute and there is a small playground very close. We stayed with our infant and another couple.
The beach was perfect for giving the kids a run around after tea. Well deserved after a day at museums and in and out of the car. The beach was clean, great for shell hunting and the sea warm with a couple of sand bars easy to walk out to (depending on tide) Mini supermarket just at the top of the hill. A great base to explore from
The sort of beauty and peacefulness one can now experience there almost doesn’t betray the great sacrifice that took place on those same sands over 75 years ago - our freedom from tyranny rests upon the shoulders of those brave people who gave their all, and it’s a privilege to enjoy it while remembering them. Meanwhile though - EXCELLENT fish at the restaurants
Quaint area, beautiful stone buildings and cottages which are well maintained, located on Omaha Beach and near many WWII beaches and memorials. Walking distance to La Plage D'Or for cold beverages and ocean views, also Creperie la Falaise for b'fast and waffle treats made with salted caramel ice cream! Nearby L'Omaha Restaurant is great for dinner!
Great location, very accessible to the beach and historical locations. Good central location for visiting the Bayeux tapestry and cathedral and Mont St Michel, plus lots to see if you are a history enthusiast.
Its a very interesting area. To look out at the ocean and think about what those American, British, French, Canadian, Australia, Belgium, Czechoslovakia, Denmark, France, Greece, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway and Poland that had to come a ground with the German forces shooting at them is just overwhelming to fathom. I'm glad I was able to visit this area and see it first hand.
Wonderful little town on Omaha beach. Not a lot of services open in off season, we were here mid March. Plan to drive for resturants, bar, fuel etc. But there is a grocery store. We liked the fact that it was quiet, had the beach setting to ourselves at this historic site. Short drive to many other historic sites and museums, so well centered for your explorations in both directions.
A well run hotel with a pleasant atmosphere. Excellent food service for breakfast. Rooms were clean, comfortable with great views of the ocean. Wi-Fi has a strong signal
