Beautiful charming little village on the bank of the river Seine, mostly made of typical old thatched houses. Very quiet and people are very welcoming. Ideal for relaxing, for a romantic retreat or if you have a dog.
If you want a quiet bucolic relaxing idyll then you can't really do much better than Vieux-Port. It is a good hub to drive to the main tourist towns and attractions of Normandy too. It's off the beaten track a bit but as quiet country retreats go, it takes some beating. It is basically a small bunch of beautifully preserved thatched roof cottages with manor house build alongside the river. Very tranquil. Everything looks pristine. We feel we really "lucked out" in happening upon this beautiful little village.
Beautiful walks along the banks of the Sienne spoiled by the vast amount of washed up rubbish (mainly plastic). If you ever doubted the enviromental impact of plastic waste, a walk here will prove the problem. Eat at the B&B, the food is great and we couldn't see an alternative eating establishment for many miles on small country roads. Beautiful unique houses in quiet and pretty village.
