Malmaison Aberdeen, hotel in Aberdeen

Malmaison Aberdeen is a stunning luxury hotel with sumptuous rooms, a sophisticated brasserie, a diverse spa and endless exquisite designs, style and flair.

From the moment we walked into the reception checking area, the extravagant bouquet of flowers enveloped us. Our rooms were very cozy with the thickest mattress and softest pillows and bed linens. The shower gel AMS hands wash are delicate and delightful. Coffee at the bar was great too. I set up office in a nook on one of the many lounge sofas. The background music fully captured the romance of this property. Every picture, framed kilt and decorative piece is well thought out. This place is a must!! 🩷♥️💗

FAQs about hotels in Aberdeen

Charm, Granite, Energy and Blooms

With a gently rolling landscape, Aberdeen moves elegantly between sandy beaches, picturesque stone houses, and blooming gardens. As Scotland’s 3rd-largest city, it is home to important universities, a busy harbour, and is a hub for the oil industry in the North Sea.

Walk along the Union Street ‘Granite Mile’, and visit some of the historic places like the Town House, Castlegate, or ‘Provost Skene’s House’. Don’t miss the Art Gallery and the Maritime Museum, and do some shopping in the city’s trendy shops. Choosing hotels in Aberdeen’s city centre allows you to explore this compact city on foot.

The charming Old Town is filled with bookstores, old buildings like the King’s College, and student cafés. The city won the ‘Britain in Bloom’ prize a stunning 10 times for its well-kept gardens.

The local airport offers direct train links with the central railway and coach station. Staying in a B&B, a cottage, or a hotel near Aberdeen Airport is a way to avoid the last-minute rush, while enjoying the surrounding green hills.

We were there for 3 nights. Would have liked more time to see more of the city and the castles in the area. In our two full days we had all day tours out of the city. They were great but we could have used more time.

Aberdeen is a place for a short visit so you can say”been there, ticked the box”. All in all a rather tired city which has not had the investment from the offshore industries that it deserves. Places are rather untidy and tired with the exception of Old Aberdeen which is lovely and worth a visit. Good beach area about 25 minute walk from centre also worth a visit. Plenty of eateries and drinking establishments for all tastes and qualities. Some areas could do with a thorough clean up! Stonehaven a short 20 minute train trip is far nicer and is a small fishing port. Well worth a visit if in the area.

Lots to see and do. Visited Duthie Park - beautiful. It helped that the weather was particularly good. We were there to attend a concert by the local Bon Accord and District Pipe Band. Vg it was too. Their guests were St Laurence O'Toole Pipe Band , The Junior Bon Accord and Distict Pipe Band also played. Very encouraging to see some very young people performing. We ate in hotel the first night and the second night we went to the Ferryhill House Hotel - also first class. Very easy to make your way around Aberdeen.

The location is great, really close to Aberdeen with plenty of parking and a quick drive down the road to the supermarket. It was well signposted so easy to find as well. Great hotel and location. The facilities at Ibis aren't luxurious, but they are nice, comfortable, and clean. They have everything you need, and the breakfast is excellent. Can't beat the location. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Bed is comfortable. If you're like me and prefer not to pay extra for luxuries you don't need, then you can't beat Ibis in Aberdeen.

Rooms were spacious, breakfast good. The one big drawback to this hotel is that there is NO access from the parking garage below to the hotel. You have to walk out of the garage and up a flight of stairs to get into the hotel - not ideal when hauling a lot of suitcases in the rain...otherwise, it's similar to Marriotts around the world.

The hotel is in the centre of Aberdeen. It's relatively clean, and the room was very large. Breakfast was hot and tasty, and I ordered from an ala carte menu. I also had dinner in the evening at the hotel which was very hot and tasty, and good value. My waitress (Susan) was fun, and engaged me as a solo traveller.
