We have been coming to Aberdeen on short stay visits for many years. This is now a city in serious decline. The main street, Union Street was sad. Betting shops in abundance. Not one Department store left in a city of this size. I am aware this is a national trend but come on Council. Clean up your once beautiful City Centre. Pavements are so uneven they are a constant trip hazard. It was just so sad to see.
We love Aberdeen. We can spend time with our daughter who is at University. The city isn't too big but big enough to find something different to do. The local people were very friendly. The only thing we noticed was that the pavements were not very wheelchair friendly.
The thing my children who are boys did not like was in the changing room there was no where private to go and there was an old man sitting on a bench drying his privates in front of everyone. They were very upset about this.open to whoever they said. Please put separation in!
Lovely city, with a great beech, harbour, buzzing city centre, lots of shops, great architecture, good public transport, near airport, beautiful parks, museums and old Aberdeen is just stunning. Lovely food lots to choose from and friendly people.
Aberdeen is a nice friendly city, it's got good bars and restaurants for food and drink. Great for walking around and looking at the street art murals on the walls. The shops are all within a short walk, the beach, the cinema and the retail park are a 15-20 minute walk from the city centre, you're never short of places to stay as well. I love staying in Aberdeen as I find it easy to relax
aberdeen as a city is incredibly boring , honestly with the poor council and ridiculous cost ( aberdeen city charges it inhabitants as if they are all living off of the failing oil industry) so many shops have been forced to close and it’s gotten from bad to worse , council wastes money on unwanted changes to “improve” city features , infrastructure , etc but they are all a bunch of monkeys flinging money around like it’s their own crap and failing to see how they’ve killed off a city that used to have potential . plenty of phone repair and charity shops though the reason for putting down my trip was to short its because i miss my family and wanted more time there , the city itself … meh
Ever wish you could find a budget hotel with 5-star service? If you are travelling to Aberdeen (Scotland) you need look no further than the Globe Inn. The rooms are clean and comfortable; the breakfasts are hearty, and the staff unfailingly courteous. There is also an attractive beer garden for chilling out in the evening or having dinner outdoors. When the time comes for moving on, perhaps to catch the evening ferry to Orkney or Shetland (within walking distance), the staff will happily store your luggage. Like I said, 5-star.
We had trouble finding it in the dark on a rainy night. We called and an employee came out back to lead us in once we parked. So kind and thoughtful. We loved our rooms and had an excellent dinner in the bar. We were dissapointed in the selection of Merch. We bought 2 tees but they were not what we had seen on the wall. Get more items that say Aberdeen or Scotland on them. We would highly recomend this hotel and restaurant. Loved the Elvis Juice beer!
Fantastic room. Spotlessly clean and comfortable. Modern and fresh. Great, friendly service throughout my 3 night stay. Normally stay in a chain hotel in the city centre for business trips to Aberdeen but would prefer to support a local and independent business. Food, service and ambience in the bar very good as well as breakfast. Will only book The Palm Court from now on for future work trips.
Great venue as we were at TECA. Staff were fabulous, polite, efficient and friendly. I object to paying for parking, it should be included in any out-of-town centre hotel. The rooms are spacious and clean but sadly as is the case of many new hotels, the lighting in the bedroom is too dim and trying to do hair and make-up is impossible. Bathroom mirrors require me to stand on tip toe to see myself!
The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. The evening dinner and breakfast were delicious, with everything cooked to perfection. The hotel is within walking distance to the centre of Aberdeen but there is also a bus stop close to the hotel with a bus to the centre of town every 20 minutes. There is a large car park unlike most of the hotels in the city centre.
Aberdeen
Everything !!! The hosts, Evelyn & Charlie are fantastic. They are extremely knowledgeable & willing to help you in any way possible to make your stay great. The breakfast, in my opinion is outstanding and far superior to that of a restaurant. The next time my travels again take me to Aberdeen, my first & hopefully only choice will be Arkaig Guest House.
The property is an ideal location for Aberdeen city centre however when booking it looks like the hotel has been refurbished which I am sure some of it has. Main reception and bar area etc are true to the pictures however the rooms i were offered were possibly in the very dated part of the hotel.
Aberdeen
Everything was excellent, especially the owner. He have provided everything so good that even 5 star hotels don't provide. Owner is so cool and helpful that I have never seen any hotel stay this good. Even if we double payment for service we won't get closer to this service.
The room was spacious and comfortable. The location was perfect four our needs close to the ferry terminal and the bus to the airport. It was a good base for exploring Aberdeen and there were plenty of food and drink options close to the hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful.
The hotel rooms were above the restaurant and bar which was very convenient. The staff was very friendly and the rooms were clean. The price per night was very reasonable as well. The restaurant had excellent meals that were very affordable
Very close to the stations and city centre. Staff is kind and very polite. They let me leave the bags for a couple of hours so I can walk around town comfortably. Nights were cold but it’s November in Aberdeen it’s not the hotel’s fault
Modern spacious and well designed studio room; small kitchen was great; hotel is really well located, right in the city centre and close to all amenities, yet really quiet and peaceful (which is highly unusual for hotels in Aberdeen).
Been to lots of functions at the Hotel but never stayed overnight. Great experience and look forward to seeing you next time I visit Aberdeen (PS give the blond girl in the Bar a rise - she never stopped cleaning stuff !!! )
The Location was the only thing I could-rate in the what did I like category , if it wasn't for that it would be one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had and without a doubt the worst I have had in Aberdeen
Visited Aberdeen to go out for the evening, food and drinks, and the hotel location is just perfect - not in the centre where it’s loud and busy but not too far away to walk back to at the end of the night.
This is good clean basic hotel at a very cheap price. Everything about the hotel is what you would expect for a hotel in this price range. I have used this hotel before and i will use it again.
Nothing outstanding about this hotel, we were looking for somewhere to sleep before a wedding and this fitted the bill.
Great value hotel, ideal location, right next to the airport and not far from city centre
