I liked their location right downtown and near the Harbour. They had a good restaurant. We checked in early with no problem. We checked out on time but had hours to wait before our evening ferry ride with North Link Ferries. Quayside stored our luggage for us so we were free to explore Aberdeen. We also waited comfortably in the little area next to their Pool Table.

Room had everything I needed with nice extra touches to welcome me to Aberdeen. Coffee maker worked great and the coffee chosen was tasty. The bed was super comfy. Tv was a great size. Small things like the shower controls being out of the way of the water as it fell made getting the right shower temp before heading in really easy and convenient. I was able to get up, out and travel about with comfort and convenience while enjoying the very well decorated and appointed room.

I appreciate that much needed redevelopment is ongoing for Union Street but, it desperately requires rejuvenated. Union Square is an excellent facility but Union Street is the heart of the city and for tourists especially, will be one of their lasting memories, when telling friends and family of their visit.

We didn't really come in order to explore Aberdeen, but would like to return and spend more time exploring. We called in briefly at the Marine museum and would have liked to look around the port. The local people were friendly and helpful. There were plenty of places to eat near the hotel- e.g. Italian, Japanese sushi, kebabs, fish and chips, Wetherspoons.

The art gallery is fantastic, lots of great exhibitions shown there.Great interactive learning stations for children+good cafe near entrance + a small coffee + cake one on 2nd floor where you can sit outside with view down the city.Footdee is a lovely old fishertown area near the huge beach+harbour. The famous Codonas beach park is expanding.Lots of great bars and places to eat.Good shopping centres but the only let down for me is Union street, the large wide main street which has lots of closed shops and looks run down.

It is nowhere as much fun as 20 years ago.

It is nowhere as much fun as 20 years ago. The city centre is dreadful really, Union Street had great shops, now a bit of a backwater town. There are tedious shopping centers with parking, but nothing special. The new gardens are worse than the beautiful old gardens which is criminal. Duthie Park is a good perambulation on a sunny morning, the art gallery and maritime museum are great. Night-time in the city centre is for the young, the drunk and low level criminality, best avoided for any culture or quality. There are a few music venues and a pleasant theatre with contemporary shows. The P&J TECA center is miles away from the city centre and not much fun in general to get to and from. Hotels can be ludicrously expensive for low quality accommodation on show days, weekends and oil industry events.

Hotel is in an ideal location in the heart of Aberdeen, close to Bus and Railway stations and the busy Union Street. We asked for a room at the back of the hotel to ensure no night noise from the surrounding clubs which was easily arranged. The room was very clean and had all we wanted for our 1 night stay. Hotel bar was well stocked with a variety of drinks and very attentive barman.

We had to go to Aberdeen unexpectedly as our son was admitted to the hospital after being assaulted. The hotel was fairly close, so it was handy from that point of view. Given that we had to book 3 rooms altogether for our other young adult children, it was very cheap, so it was fit for purpose as just somewhere to sleep. The staff were all very friendly and helpful though.
