Stayed one night on a Solo touring Motorcycle trip around Mid Wales. Great little guest house. I had Room 14 with a cracking sea view from the bay window (and beautiful sunset!!) Comfy bed, clean room, linin, TV, tea making facilities. En suite was clean with plenty of hot water and toiletries. Breakfast was fantastic, I had full English with coffee & toast. Staff were absolutely lovely, helpful, chatty but not overbearing or “false” if you get my drift…….My bike was garaged during my stay which was an added bonus meaning I didn’t have to leave it on the road out the front. I would happily recommend this place. It was recommended to me by my Father-in-law who travels regularly on business. Book it you won’t be disappointed!

It’s been many many years since my last visit to Aber & I didn’t know what to expect. I have absolutely loved my visit….the Glengower hotel was lovely, the shops in Aber were excellent (eg a fabulous haberdashery ‘Aberdashery’, a brilliant Art shop, Medinas cafe, the Bookshop, lots of other great shops. The people were lovely, welcoming & friendly. I Cant wait to go back & would like to stay much longer next visit.

The facilities at the hotel were excellent and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Aberystwyth has a fabulous coastling for walking and boasts a variety of bars and restaurants for evening entertainment. Lots of places were dog friendly.
The downside would be the lack of 24 hour parking.

I have lived in aberystwyth before but this helped me out when it came to the local area. if you like antique shops, pubs or cute craft shops then you're in luck, wear a jacket as it can be rather windy by the sea, and I'd reccomend going to the top of consti on the mountain railway. Pubs are easy to come by so no worries there.
Honestly for food I just shopped at a local buthcers and used the kitchen to make some yummy dinners, mogans butchers and rob rattray do great stuff, morgans do a brilliant brekkie by the way, as for pubs I'd reccomend the bottle and barrel and for cafes there is the lovely Carys’s Angolino the owner is a mitchelin star chef and a lovely host.
I could reccomend loads of bits in aber but I cant be bothered, so do some more research yourself and see what tickles your pickle
And remember, did you even go to aberystwyth if you didnt walk by the beach or lighhouse?

Beach front accommodation with great views and relaxing environment.
Good food, with some great local restaurants, cafe's and ice cream parlours !
Interesting and varied shops in the town centre and easily accessible by train and car.
Plenty to see for those interested in history and arts, with the National Library and for those who like the outdoors, magnificent coastline and seashore.
Summer sunset in Aber is something glorious to behold.
The breakfast was a hot buffer which meant you could have as much as you liked. It would have been nice if they'd had a few more items, eg Black Pudding. Also fresh tomatoes instead of tinned. The location of the hotel was central to all facilites in Aberystwyth. Including the railway station which was handy as I travelled there by train. (Happy to report that the trains were on time both coming and going back!)
The hotel is in a peaceful seafront location away from the commercial centre. Even so, it’s only a couple of minutes’ flat walk from the bandstand, and a few more from the railway station.
Good shower and traditional breakfast. The selection of Kellogg’s cereal packets could usefully be augmented by oats, nuts and dried fruit, and a non-dairy milk.
The hotel is in a good location and very walkable to the centre of Aberystwyth. Rooms are a good size, beds very comfortable and the air conditioning was very welcome. The Wi-Fi was excellent considering it was free unlike some chains that charge extra for a decent connection. Rooms were clean and tidy with adequate supplies of tea and coffee.
