The bedroom was recently refurbished to a high standard whilst still retaining the character of the period property. We had gorgeous exposed wooden beams in our white painted rooms. The restaurant & bar were also refurbished to a very high spec with gorgeous fixtures & fittings and the cocktails were to die for! It was a pleasure to hang out here.

It had a lot of character and was in lovely grounds.

Good location..for a short break..ideal for doggy freindly, couldn't fault the staff very obliging.

I could not give comments towards the room since I was told that the room had been overbooked and was arranged to move to another hotel on their expenses. On the day of my arrival, there was a storm, the receptionist was considerate to serve me with a cup of hot chocolate before calling a taxi for me. I paid for the room but was upgraded to a room with a queen bed in anothor hotel as a compensation. I had a comfortable stay there.

I discovered the Cambridge Hotel over thirty years ago, before the new extension was built, whilst working in West Yorkshire. Now retired, I do not even consider staying anywhere else when regularly visiting the area with my wife for the superb Wednesday evening jazz sessions in a nearby pub and the excellent real ales that abound in the pubs around the railway station. The hotel is located just outside the town centre, about 10mins walk from the station, but it has free secure undercover parking if you drive. This hotel is excellent value for money and you will not be disappointed.
