A lovely seaside town, great views and harbour area. Lovely shops and local foods. Lovely place to watch the world go by. Most places to eat along the harbour front, great restaurants, tea houses and fish and chips. Lovely areas of the town to explore beyond the sea front. Regular buses from the harbour front too, to explore the wider area. Access by boat once a day across the Firth of Forth to North Berwick, another fabulous seaside town not far from Edinburgh. Worth a visit, Regular boat trips out to the Isles of May. Birds and sealife watching. Worth the trip. You can do similar trips by high speed rib which is great and by more sedate boats too. Well worth a visit to the area.
There is so much to do and see in this area from the beaches to the Scottish Fisheries Museum, to day trips to St Andrews and the villages in the area. Not to mention the best Fish and Chips in the world!
Charming and beautiful seaside village. The Fife Coastal Path is a great walk in either direction. Don’t miss the Dreel Tavern for a pint and pub grub, and The Cellar if you fancy upscale Scottish food.
Anstruther is the perfect base for exploring Fife, being near St Andrews and flanked by other charming fishing villages. It, too, has plenty of character but also has a good range of restaurants and pubs and a good local supermarket (Coop). We liked the Waterfront Restaurant, Boathouse and Bank in Anstruther. The Wee Chippie has great fish and chips but terrible coffee! People in Anstruther were friendly and welcoming. On Boxing day we got to witness the Great Neuk Dook, a charity swim in the harbour. So we can also say the local people are tough! We had a car but could have got about by bus quite easily.
I liked everything about anstruther been going there for the last 50yrs so it's a place that holds special memories we were up there scattering family members ashes so it was a emotional time things have changed over the years but i still love the place and the fish and chips are amazing
Lovely coastal village with historic seafront and many period houses of character and historical interest. Access to the Fife coastal path and other beautiful coastal villages and harbours in the East Neuk of Fife.
The apt is very clean warm and comfortable The kitchen is well equipped with plenty if dishes etc, washing machine and dishwasher everything you would have at home really The beds are great and the street is quiet so a good nights sleep is no problem It has a modern bathroom with a fabulous shower It is an easy short walk to shops pubs and restaurants and both the harbours at Cellardyke and Anstruther A great base for visiting the beautiful East Neuk of Fife I would have no hesitation in recommending this lovely property
24 East Green made us so welcome when we arrived on Christmas Eve. It was warm with a Christmas tree and Christmas crackers. There was fresh milk tea and coffee and the kitchen had every utensil you needed to make your Christmas dinner. The cooker was great and the fridge freezer very useful. There was cake and biscuits and even two miniatures of gins. We really enjoyed Anstruther and our stay at 24 East Green. Thank you.
Great location. Very comfortable extra large beds - perfect ! The rooms were clean and had everything we needed including plentiful tea and coffee making facilities and toiletries. The restaurant was good value with a good range of choice. Staff were friendly and you felt that nothing was too much trouble for them . The hotel had a warm family feel . Would definitely recommend it.
Just felt like I was at home. So comfortable and homely everything we needed was there. Beautifully decorated and furnished. Everything you want is on your door step and fabulous for walking. This is our 3rd New Year Anstruther and will definitely be back at Harbour View.
The facility was spotless. Jillian picked us up at the bus stop and took us to the apartment. Colin allowed us to leave our bags in the apartment beyond the checkout time to allow us to hike some more of the beautiful Fife Coastal Path. Thanks for your generosity.
Location was excellent. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Loved the loft style living room and the decor. Bed linens are 5 star hotel quality and the furnishings were top quality too. Bath is huge!
The room we got is huge, much bigger than expected. The breakfast was also excellent. All in all, the hotel more than exceeded our expectations, and for a very decent price.
Great place to stay, very clean and comfortable and Daryl was so helpful. Would highly recommend and we'd love to stay again if we're back in Anstruther.
