What a cosy place to stay! It is indeed an old cottage and our room looked out over the loch. The accommodations are outstanding with a well appointed bedroom and bathroom. The bed was so comfortable! There is a communal sitting room with tons of information about Scotland. The hosts are so friendly and welcoming and are very knowledgeable about Scottish history and area sights. Breakfast is served in a bright dining room overlooking the water with bird feeders attracting local birds to the garden outside. Breakfast choices were extensive and made to order. You are out in the countryside, so I recommend you have a car and the cottage does have free parking. This is the perfect way point in your travels through Scotland.

Melfort Village is set in a lochside location, 15 mi from Oban. Furnace is 14 mi away. The units include a dining/seating area with a satellite flat-screen TV.

this place is great. You're tucked away in the hills and valleys below Oban. You're really in nature - with lots of paths to walk, easy to go to Easdale (a local recommendation) and overall a cozy stay. Olwan is a gem - she drew lovely maps for us, with recommendations of places and things for us to do. Go to the Kilmaford Bar on Tuesday nights for Live local music. IT was the highlight of our WHOLE trip.

What a little gem. Our room was extremely clean, cosy and warm. Our host was informative on where to eat and what to see. Breakfast was fresh and delicious.

Cosy and warm, far enough from the hustle and bustle of a busy town but close enough for you to walk into(Oban). There’s a really good bar right in the middle of the site where a few of the locals seemed to go. Everyone friendly and nice. Katie is on hand to help you with anything you need
