We have stayed at the Fife Lodge several times before & intend to do so again. The staff are very friendly & efficient. The food is excellent for dinner with varied choices for starters, main courses & desserts. There is a very good wine list too & there is a large selection of whiskies. The buffet breakfast has a good selection of cereals, yoghurts, fruit juices & fresh fruit plus the cooked choices are excellent. Our stay was very enjoyable.

It was a return trip after 20 years. I felt Banff itself was a bit weary. Walks along beaches at Banff links and Cullen were wonderful. The walk from Whitehills to Banff along the shore was good. The Alvah bridge walk was good, starting at Duff House. Eating out for dinner in Banff was difficult but a visit out to Whitehills fish restaurant is recommended.
The Railway Inn was excellent! Great chat with the locals and landlord who were very welcoming. They brought out old pictures of Banff to explain why an Inn next to the Harbour was called the Railway Inn!
Banff is a lovely town with beautiful sea views but as many other small towns who are suffering from high rates most of the shops are closed. This used to be a thriving area with fishing fleets in Whitehills and Macduff but they are no more .
View from our hotel window was lovely. The waves and the sunrise were spectacular. My husband and I have mobility problems but we walked round Duff House which was wonderful. A volunteer pianist was playing.....very atmospheric. We can also recommend the tearoom!
Lovely place. We walked round all of it and found some nice little gems of places in the 2 days we were there. The sandy beach area is great and some of the old buildings took our interest. Pretty much everything you would need is in Banff it seems. We are looking to buy there soon - hence our trip! :D
step away from life's hustle n bustle and relax with time to gather your thoughts. Great coastal walks, beaches are very good but dependent on the weather and time of year. Local foods are great, Cullen skink was very nice. Get your camera dusted off and go take some photographs. Enjoy being out of the machine and just relax...
