Beautiful scenery. Host was delightful at ennislare manor.

Beautiful scenery. Host was delightful at ennislare manor. We loved our accommodation. Walking around town was easy. Train wasn’t complicated and absolutely comfortable and clean. Conductors were informative, coffee at train station was great. He was the only one before 9am that we could find. Went to omniplex for a movie, seating was so comfortable it almost felt gold lounge x will definitely recommend

The Clandeboye Lodge was used as a base to travel throughout N. Ireland. Bangor as a town has lost some of its attractiveness. A large number of retail outlets have closed leaving a short fall along the seafront and Main Street which does not help the appearance however there are numerous shopping malls on the periphery of the town.

I liked everything about Bangor, it had all we could ask for in a holiday destination. I particularly liked our boat trip on the ocean quest with its poetic skipper, Eisenhower Pier, the museum, castle, Salty Dog, Donegan's, Bangor Abby and St Comgalls Church were fabulous and a visit to Helens Bay. Not enough time to do everything over two days. It was great to visit public houses which accepted dogs (I did not have one) and the people we met we so accepting and talkative and proud of their town. Bangor is a place for all the family with all the amenities a family with children and pets need. Has something for everybody.

Bangor has a a lovely seafront and marina with beautifully kept public areas. It's possible to walk for miles along the coastal path to Holywood or in the opposite direction along the beach front to Ballyholme and beyond. Pickie park is a great place for younger children with its famous swan shaped peddle boats. Good fun for adults ,too. During my visit there was the added attraction of the Bangor wheel as well as rides and attractions at ground level for those wary of heights. Shopping is a bit limited, but plenty of coffee shops, fish and chip shops and other restaurants. For those wishing to travel further afield, buses and trains from the centrally located station offer a wide range of destination.

A lovely and large place to stay, a flat over several floors, with everything you could need. It made it clear why staying in a self-catering property can be so much better value and more convenient than a hotel. It was beautifully decorated and full of interesting "objects", art and books. The main bedroom was light and airy. Only a very short walk into the station, so a good base for visiting Belfast.

Lovely house, loads of space. Such a pleasure to stay in a real family home full of art and books and cosy corners to relax in. Right on the front so lovely views and had the weather been better we would have enjoyed sitting out in the garden. Great to have two living rooms so little ones can play and watch cartoons in one and the 'grown ups' can enjoy peace and quiet in the other!

Location was great for visiting family in the area and it was about a 15-20 minute walk into Bangor town centre. We had a three night stay and the house provided a lot more flexibility than you get when staying in a local B&B or hotel. Parking was on the street and we were always able to park fairly close to the property.

Nice victorian-style home in Bangor, Northern Ireland. It's a seaside village. We walked to the water and to dinner. Many families out enjoying the sunshine. Parking is right on premises and the Titanic Museum was a short drive away.

The hotel is charming, the location is beautiful and the food is outstanding. My only complaint would be the mattress, but that’s because nothing can compare to ours at home! Lovely stay.
