Located in an elevated position overlooking the marina, this well reputed and respected guest house occupies a superb setting in the seaside resort of Bangor, County Down. We like the staff and also the location, you can walk to almost anywhere. Having a kitchen to use was great and a place to park.
Bangor
Shelleven Guest House is a Victorian property with great charm and period features throughout, providing luxurious accommodations and dining in a warm relaxed atmosphere. Faultless! Breakfast was a work of art. Wi-fi was perfect. The settings have real character - a really nice balance. Generous supply of beverages and nice touches in room. I would have happily paid more for what was a very reasonable rate.

The location was great at 5min from the marina. The guest were very nice and very helpful. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Finally, the breakfast was great and at a very fair price.

Located in Bangor and only a 16-minute walk from Ballyholme Beach, Hideaway Cottage has accommodations with city views, free WiFi and free private parking. Everything really handy for town and the house we are clearing. Chris is a great host with lots of personal touches provided. Would stay again if needed.
The Clandeboye Lodge was used as a base to travel throughout N. Ireland. Bangor as a town has lost some of its attractiveness. A large number of retail outlets have closed leaving a short fall along the seafront and Main Street which does not help the appearance however there are numerous shopping malls on the periphery of the town.
I liked everything about Bangor, it had all we could ask for in a holiday destination. I particularly liked our boat trip on the ocean quest with its poetic skipper, Eisenhower Pier, the museum, castle, Salty Dog, Donegan's, Bangor Abby and St Comgalls Church were fabulous and a visit to Helens Bay. Not enough time to do everything over two days. It was great to visit public houses which accepted dogs (I did not have one) and the people we met we so accepting and talkative and proud of their town. Bangor is a place for all the family with all the amenities a family with children and pets need. Has something for everybody.
Bangor is amazing ... beautiful walks, breath taking scenery, beautiful cafes & restaurants ... everywhere is within walking distance ... Underground Dining Restaurant is superb. Guillemot Cafe is delicious ... Open House events are top notch ... loved every minute of our stay ... xxx
Bangor has a a lovely seafront and marina with beautifully kept public areas. It's possible to walk for miles along the coastal path to Holywood or in the opposite direction along the beach front to Ballyholme and beyond. Pickie park is a great place for younger children with its famous swan shaped peddle boats. Good fun for adults ,too. During my visit there was the added attraction of the Bangor wheel as well as rides and attractions at ground level for those wary of heights. Shopping is a bit limited, but plenty of coffee shops, fish and chip shops and other restaurants. For those wishing to travel further afield, buses and trains from the centrally located station offer a wide range of destination.
Great for people who love dogs and a good flat promenade to walk on. Plenty of summer seats to sit and rest on. No dogs dirt on the streets very clean. plenty pf green space. the shops were dissapointing but we didn't go for the shops. We just wanted a break and that's what we got. A lovely break Food was excellent, congrats to the Chief's.
The marina & beachfront at Bangor is great lots of lovely restaurants and bars to visit, a good size town with everything you need a town or beach break. Very accessible to get the train accross Ireland or just into Belfast with two train stations.
Bangor
The room was very comfortable; and well heated when we arrived; the bathroom was outstanding, large size in size, a separate tub & shower, a seat in the room, really nice! The WiFi was strong, along with several USB ports available and great TV options. Great breakfast options, delicious, served hot , freshly prepared. Paul our host was very inviting, great conversationalist, very helpful in educating us with how best to navigate around the country.
Lovely house, loads of space. Such a pleasure to stay in a real family home full of art and books and cosy corners to relax in. Right on the front so lovely views and had the weather been better we would have enjoyed sitting out in the garden. Great to have two living rooms so little ones can play and watch cartoons in one and the 'grown ups' can enjoy peace and quiet in the other!
Bangor
Just amazing experience staying in Princetown Guesthouse from the very welcoming greeting by the host and explaining the area, the spacious super comfortable room with sea view and very soft and comfortable beds, tea, water, coffee and cookies, tasty breakfast :) the location is superb with a short walk to the beach and train station. One of the best places I have stayed ❤

Awesome apartment in a very central location. The apartment is a very modern and spacious and was very clean. Very welcoming people. Many restaurants, shops nearby. The beach is less than 5 minutes walk away and an excellent place for a walk. Fast response from the owner. We really enjoyed our time in the apartment and Bangor and hope to be back. Highly recommended.
Bangor
Location was great for visiting family in the area and it was about a 15-20 minute walk into Bangor town centre. We had a three night stay and the house provided a lot more flexibility than you get when staying in a local B&B or hotel. Parking was on the street and we were always able to park fairly close to the property.
Bangor
The apartment was absolutely gorgeous my son was so excited when he got there. It was sparkling clean. The beds were lovely and the towels were softer than most hotels. Car park just up the road as I arrived late which was perfect I didn’t have to pay for parking. The area was quiet and check in and out was super easy
We liked everything. The house, the place, the local facilities and all the facilities laid on at the house by our host. We thought parking might be difficult, but not at all, there was a dedicated space.
Apartment was very spacious, comfortable and nicely decorated, it was a cheerful, unique space to spend a week in. And all the free coffee we could drink was such a lovely bonus! Philip was a great host.
Lots of space for a family of 6, the views were amazing. The balcony and seating area in the garden were lovely places to sit and take in the views of the sea and watch the boats!
The location near the marina was a bonus and parking was good but not too many spaces There might be available to park on the street but not sure of it was free
As always the hotel and staff were fantastic
