FAQs about hotels in Bath

Roman Ruins and Georgian Grandeur

Wonderful, World Heritage site Bath is an impressive mix of Georgian architecture and Roman legacy. Its most famous landmark is the fantastic, natural hot spring Roman Baths. Although everything above the pillar bases is from a later period, you still get an idea of its appearance in Roman times. Sadly you can’t bathe here, but across the street the rooftop pool at Thermae Bath Spa offers views of Bath Abbey and the surrounding hills.

Check out the stained-glass windows in the abbey, England’s last remaining Gothic church. Its square houses Pump Rooms dispensing hot spring water from the Roman baths.

Just behind, the Parade Gardens by the Avon River overlook Bath Rugby Club, the multi-level Pulteney Weir and registered historic Pulteney Bridge, lined with shops. Other Bath shopping options include Southgate Shopping Centre, the bohemian Walcot Street market, and brand-name stores on Milsom and George streets.

North is The Circus, a circular square lined with Georgian townhouses, only marginally less impressive than the Royal Crescent down the road. You can now visit number 1 Royal Crescent, restored to its 18th-century glory.

Before heading to Bristol Airport from your Bath hotel, take time to try the famous Sally Lunn Bun and stop at the pleasant pubs along the Kennet and Avon Canal.

Bath is a beautiful city with lots to do the baths are mist definitely the place to visit and if you're book and get there by 9.30 latest its much quieter. The river Avon and shops over the bridge worth a visit as are the museums. Needed more than two days to see everything highly recommend the square grill in the square by the abby.

We travelled to Bath to walk from BATH Spa to Bathampton along the canal footpath. There were numerous coffee shops to choose from and the walk uncovered some historic views and historic notices. The views were great across Bath and along the canal. Well worth a trip. Services rail and bus were prompt and plenty to choose from.

We have visited Bath several times and can highly recommend it as a place to see in England if you don’t mind the crowds! The buildings are mostly built in beautiful cream coloured Bath stone and stunning. The city has all the shops you would need and there are plenty of options for eating (most pubs do a great Sunday lunch!) We are restricted to school holidays but if you can visit out of season I am sure it would be less crowded.

The hotel far exceeded our expectations. The room offered everything you could need, more so than some larger more costly hotels. The staff were awesome. Thanks Tom, Claire, Gi-Gi and Sue. They couldn’t have made us feel more welcome. The food/bar facilities were great. Free parking. Transport into the City Centre by bus was right outside the hotel and was just few minutes ride away. We would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to visit the beautiful City of Bath.

Excellent customer service from all reception staff and members of staff at breakfast. Breakfast was delicious, fab selection, and lovely atmosphere. The room was comfortable, spacious, relaxing, and quiet. The hotel was very clean, welcoming, and in beautiful grounds. Great location not far at all from Bath city centre and other lovely places. We couldn't fault the hotel and would definitely recommend it, especially for the price.

The beds were very comfortable (I do a lot of traveling and these were by far the best). The quality of the bathrooms was very good, they were like a good-quality hotel. The hot tub was a great bonus. There was plenty of space and having the office space was really good for us. It was easy to walk into town and there were shops close by to get provisions. Really appreciated the parking. The appliances were of excellent quality.
