FAQs about hotels in Bath

Roman Ruins and Georgian Grandeur

Wonderful, World Heritage site Bath is an impressive mix of Georgian architecture and Roman legacy. Its most famous landmark is the fantastic, natural hot spring Roman Baths. Although everything above the pillar bases is from a later period, you still get an idea of its appearance in Roman times. Sadly you can’t bathe here, but across the street the rooftop pool at Thermae Bath Spa offers views of Bath Abbey and the surrounding hills.

Check out the stained-glass windows in the abbey, England’s last remaining Gothic church. Its square houses Pump Rooms dispensing hot spring water from the Roman baths.

Just behind, the Parade Gardens by the Avon River overlook Bath Rugby Club, the multi-level Pulteney Weir and registered historic Pulteney Bridge, lined with shops. Other Bath shopping options include Southgate Shopping Centre, the bohemian Walcot Street market, and brand-name stores on Milsom and George streets.

North is The Circus, a circular square lined with Georgian townhouses, only marginally less impressive than the Royal Crescent down the road. You can now visit number 1 Royal Crescent, restored to its 18th-century glory.

Before heading to Bristol Airport from your Bath hotel, take time to try the famous Sally Lunn Bun and stop at the pleasant pubs along the Kennet and Avon Canal.

The main attractions are all within walking distance, and the free walking tour of Bath was informative and enjoyable. Many people were dressed in Jane Austen period clothing, as part of Bath’s annual celebration honouring Jane Austen, and that was a special treat to see!

Walking Bridgerton tour was exceptionally informative with a brilliant guide . P.S you do need to be able to walk up hill though as we lost at least one lady who couldn’t keep up . Pump house afternoon tea and Baths need a visit . The Jane Austin museum and tour also a very worthwhile visit . Ate at corkage and the scallop shell and both were great 👍

Bath is a very interesting city to visit with lots to occupy a visitor and plenty of good places to eat. It is easy to walk around and take in the Georgian splendour of the buildings. We ate at Casa de tapas and Cappadocia restaurants and both were great.

One of the best hotels we have stayed in. Staff were lovely and most helpful. We were served by Clio and she was brilliant. The hotel is clean and modern, a very pleasant place to be. The location is perfect, right in the centre of Bath with everything you need within a few minutes walk. Facilities are fantastic. Lovely Swimming pool with Sauna and Steam room to use free of charge. We were worried about there being no car park but there is a very large public carpark 3/4 minutes walk away with ample spaces (Charlotte Street).

This is one of the best boutique hotels I have stayed at so far. It is in an old 18th century building but was recently renovated. The decour, the choice of colours (loved the royal blue with white), the finishing, the attention to detail - everything was superb. Our room faced the inner garden that added to the beauty of the place. The bed was super comfortable, there was also slippers and robes for the guests. The staff was very nice, helpful and responsive. When I am in Bath again, I will definitelystay in Kennard again!

The Tyndall Villa Boutique B&B is a lovely place to stay. We really liked the room we had, which was beautifully decorated and spacious. The bed was really comfortable too. The staff were lovely. The breakfast was really nice. Bath city centre is located within a 15-minute walk from the B&B. I would definitely book to come back here again. Thank you.
