Beccles is a delightful little town, though there wasn't much to do on a very cold day in February. We would love to go back when the weather is kinder. I grew up in beccles but was back visiting my mum.
I grew up in beccles but was back visiting my mum. Beccles common is good for dog walking as is down by the river from the Quay. Town center has some nice Georgian architecture. Bear and Bells pub was good but haven't been for a while. Other nice pubs, apart from the Swan, are in Geldeston just down the road. Wherry has a nice feel but try the Locks Inn. we particularly like being next to the water and the hotel location offers riverside terrace an our room had twin aspect views of the river too. the tow is of reasonable size with plenty of assorted shops. lots of pubs and restaurants. interesting place to walk round with many interesting properties. its also not far to trip out to Southwold and a little further afield to Woodbridge.
