It’s now tainted by my experience with the breakfast management staff on our second morning. Debbie the first morning was friendly and kind. Such a shame when one person can ruin an experience.

The age of the property and the history. The staff were so friendly. Very dog friendly as well, and breakfast was gorgeous.

Pure relaxation in beautiful settings. The spa was beautifully designed with lots of nooks to escape to relax and be quiet but also fabulous pools, steam room, sauna. Stayed one night, completely chilled out.

Pretty and picturesque
Pleasant room but didn’t justify price tag
Not a stranger to Berko, born and bred.
All antique shops and estate agents when I was growing up now full of restaurants and coffee shops which is very nice when visiting. Canal side pubs great.
Castle worth a visit.

Comfy beds was only plus, room cross between caller and prison cell Windows ceiling height Not as clean as it should have been , especially in today's Covid times, cobwebs are clue to room not being properly, breakfast tepid first morning, but much better second morning definitely, not as high end as advertised, parking poor,

I love Berkhamsted.
I love Berkhamsted. Went with my friends couple of years ago and we shopped, had lunch and went to the Rex cinema which is great. Went with my husband a couple of weeks ago and did shopping, dinner and Rex cinema. The hotel location is great. We managed to get in the hotel car park which is off the Waitrose car park. Not sure of the parking costs if hotel car park was full. There are plenty of places to eat and drink and some lovely shops, my favourite being The Forge Boutique. The place isn't massive but would recommend for a one night stay and trip to the Rex.

Lovely individual shops to browse, good choice of restaurants and eateries, in addition to the branch of Waitrose and M&s food hall. The town had a welcoming feel, and the appearance of some Christmas decorations although a little early did enhance the town. Lovely Saturday market too.

A compact town with many interesting and varied shops. There were also plenty of options for coffee or alcohol, which was also important! A walk along the canal is always amazing, with plenty of wildlife.

I came to visit family who live in Berkhamsted and wanted to be central. It’s a lovely little market town with lots of interesting shops that are within walking distance as well as lots of coffee shops to stop in.
We ate in the hotel one evening and the food was fresh and well prepared with very attentive ,friendly staff.
I loved the charity shops( we don’t have them in SA) also the antique shops and restaurant
We also ate in an Italian restaurant “Ask” I think was the name and had a great meal . Very child friendly and authentic
My room had a very good size modern shower room with a double size shower . The bedroom was a reasonable size for a few nights stay and quite quiet and comfortable. Plenty of space to unpack a few things and sufficient hangers. Iron and ironing board useful. The breakfasts cooked to order at the sister hotel the Kings Arms were excellent.
It was clean and tidy. Our room was very spacious and had everything we needed. We liked the fact there was a Nespresso machine in the room. The location is good in the centre of Berkhamsted. The breakfast was exceptional. The most important thing to say was that the staff were all extremely helpful and friendly.
Breakfast took far too long after ordering. And mine was tepid. One heater broken so replaced with a portable one. One bedside lamp not working. The shower plate was not attached to the wall. No parking, so used the sister hotel.
The hotel is on the main high street in Berkhamsted and so convenient. The staff were very nice and the bed was comfortable and the bathroom a really good size. Breakfast was excellent, really good choice and the food was great.
Breakfast was amazing and overall all members of staff were very nice. The restaurant side of the property is great.
Overall I would go back to the restaurant but I would not stay in the hotel.
Located on high street, easy to get around. Although the hotel doesn’t have parking space, it sent clear message about where to park which was just cross the road.
Lovely, individual room, very comfy bed, not too small, bathroom with huge shower. The place is hard to find from the High Street, but it's super quiet!
