Super friendly and helpful host helped made my stay enjoyable. I had a nice view of the Liverpool skyline and could see big ships passing by. The bed was among the most comfortable that I've had in a hotel. Excellent!

Philip was very kind. I missed the check-in time because of train cancellations and he was very helpful. Waited for me till late to let me in. The room was clean, tea coffee water, tv, wifi everything was there-, impressed by the attention paid to colour scheme, bathroom was spacious. I only wish i was with missus to fully make use of the cozy room 😂 philip helped to take care of my bag while i went out for a course. 100% recommend.

Loved the house's excellent position close to everything railway links etc. quiet area we only stayed one night but wished it could have been longer. The house was very clean and tea bags milk and bread were a really nice touch. There's an excellent bar right opposite really friendly staff and customers would recommend. Thanks again we will be back maybe next year.

    i enjoy viewing architecture & art, so the old buildings whether occupied or abandoned I find interesting to check out. I was total self sufficient with my food so did not eat out locally. Birkenhead & its adjacent districts are fairly well sign posted. Satnav is good. but without postal codes, mistakes can be made with journeys to wrong places.

    After requesting parking spaces, we arrived to find not just no private parking at the location but any parking on the street had to paid for, so be wary of this - there is NO parking available, if the spaces are all filled up. Also, after highlighting there was no heating, the owner said I should have called him to ask about it, which I wasn't going to do after initially calling him to explain about lack of wifi/smart TV. so I would suggest some basic instructions on where to find and how to operate the heating to be printed up and left in the kitchen, so future guests can turn it on themselves and not be cold through the night, like we were.

    Some areas are a little run down.

    Some areas are a little run down. I loved the town hall where we attended a wedding. The gardens in Hamilton square were lovely as were the properties. Excellent transport links to the Wirral and Liverpool.

    Where we stayed it was within easy reach of a lovely walk a long the front by the Mersey going all the way to New Brighton. It's about 2.5 miles but on a summer's evening well worth doing as there is plenty of entertainment and restaurants in New Brighton. It provides a great base to explore Liverpool and Chester.

    A quiet area and a bit neglected but some beautiful architecture and some good places to visit. We enjoyed an open mic night at THE SWINGING ARM, a meal at the lovely vegan eatery JORO, and the Woodside Village stalls at the weekend. We also visited Birkenhead Park which inspired Central Park New York but found it rather shabby.

Simon, was so friendly, to bring us to a restaurant, because no taxis, was available in the first hour, in the late evening , and in the morning, he drives us to, the mersyferry s, to seeing Liverpool.     The location is brilliant just a short bus journey to train station then train into Liverpool centre or could catch the ferry. Staff very friendly, welcoming and provided a lot of information on what we could visit. Breakfast was amazing. Very clean and comfortable rooms. Would highly recommend.
