Set in Blakeney in the Gloucestershire region, Oakdean Cottage Yurt features a patio and garden views. Our family loved the yurt! Lovely rustic kitchen and eating area, toilets, showers, outdoor fire oven, and even a tree house to play in! A fabulous stay in a beautiful area with amazing views. We also liked the fact that you could just step out and go for a walk into the forest. The first night we were there we saw some wild deers behind the garden. The hosts were friendly and very helpful.
Grove Farm B&B features river views, free WiFi and free private parking, located in Newnham, 4.3 mi from Westbury Court Garden. There is a seating and a dining area in all units. I had two fantastic nights on the grove farm. The owners were extremely friendly. They even helped me out in printing my flight ticket. I was invited for tea and cake after check in. The landscape is awesome and the farm is extremely charming. A big thank you to the grove farm.
Located in Lydney in the Gloucestershire region, Rodley Manor Retreat, Bloemuns is a 4-star property boasting free WiFi. The accommodations is 28 mi from Newport. Lots to really like about this stay! Lovely friendly hosts. Really appreciated the welcome gifts left for us including fresh milk and yummy biscuits as well as dishwashing stuff, dishwasher tabs, kitchen towel and a couple of tea towels (thank you!). Loved the very high quality bedding (Fogarty duvets with good cotton sheets and covers) and towels (Christy) and very comfortable beds. Good powerful showers with plenty of hot water. The cottage was sparkling clean. Excellent to have parking for two cars. Comfortable sofas (plenty big enough for four to sit) and nice to have part of the patio with outside table too. The garden and pot flowers were well-kept and very pretty. We didn't use it but the TV was huge! Wifi worked well even for four. Lovely and quiet..... Also so much to do right on the doorstep - easy access to a truly beautiful and historic part of the world.
Very small village with only one general store. Pub wasn't open or the public toilets. Visited the Post Office for general tourist information - was no use at all! Good bus network to Lydney and Coleford.
Didn’t spend long in Blakeney itself although it is quite appealing. There appeared to be only one eating place (The Cock Inn) which we did not visit. We visited Newnham on Severn which is an attractive place but again short of eating places so we found The White Hart at Broadoak less than a mile away with decent food and beer Also visited Westbury on Severn where there is the National Trust Wster Garden . A very attractive place
