Lovely, quiet little site in beautiful surroundings. The lodge was cozy and clean with plenty of kitchen and cleaning equipment. Would definitely recommend to others.
Set in Boat of Garten in the Highlands region, 32 Dayven Lodge features a balcony. The property is 30 mi from Nairn and free private parking is offered. Very clean, very well presented and maintained. The chalet is perfect inside - couldn’t ask for more
Boat of Garten is a beautiful small village in the highlans surrounded by some fabulious scenery. If you like cycling, trees, golf, water sports and walking then this is the place for you. The walks can be gentle or more mountainous. The forests are the best in Scotland. There is a steam railway station next to The Boat and a bike hire shop there too. I have never played the golf course but photographed it and it is stunning.
Very quiet village with one restaurant and one shop. Short drive to Aviemore which has lots of shops, restaurants and supermarket. Perfect location for exploring the Cairngorm National Park. Only 30 min drive from all the best forest walks and lots of mountains and lochs. Perfect if you just want a very quiet, calm and beautiful place to relax. We loved it and would stay here again.
The Hotel was excellent for meals but due to COVID booking for meals is required. Nicely situated for touring the area. The lodge gave adequate parking of the street. Plenty places for walks in the area. I know because of COVID19 everyone is keeping their distance but someone saying good morning or asking if breakfast was ok would not have compromised the distancing. Very impersonal. I would visit the Lodge again when some normality has returned as we felt it was a friendly place usually. The bread and jams were lovely at breakfast
we were there to fish; at night, so we did not spend time sight seeing! the village was over run with visitors. My one complaint was the number of cyclists and their complete contempt for any other road user! (sorry, just some of them, but some were just very rude and aggressive....)
The hotel is shut due to government restrictions . They have a legal duty to refund me, I paid in advance in full, but they prevaricate and refuse a refund. They claim only to be able to offer vouchers-wrong!
Boat of Garten is a small community in the foothills of the Cairngorms, close to Aviemore and Carr Bridge and within easy driving distance of Aberdeen and Inverness. Although there is not much happening in the village itself, a short drive brings you to Loch Garten itself, a beautiful loch nestling in the woods, complete with RSPB bird watching centre. A little further south is the Cairngorm centre with skiing in season and wonderful views of the mountains. Head North and the brooding beauty of Loch Ness is a 30-minute drive away.
Comfortable good food great service
