Staff were friendly and attentive. Really well kept manor, high quality furnishings, lovely garden. Housekeeping was to a very high standard, everything was spotless. We dined in elements restaurant, food is cooked to a high standard, a three course dinner for two with wine was just under £200. Although the breakfast was buffet so some items were not as hot as I'd like, the quality of ingredients was super and we really enjoyed it. Would Definitely stay again if we can get a similar deal.
Dating back to the 17th century, The Old Deanery - Restaurant With Rooms Hotel was built on the site of the monastery of St Wilfred.

The service both in the bar and dining room was esxcellent. The served breakfast instead of a buffet was much appreciated

The Crown is in the centre of Boroughbridge with private parking so felt safe and no need to drive to the shops! We were staying to visit a relative so did not have much time to explore. From what we did say we will stay twice as long in January so that we can explore more.

Boroughbridge is a lovely small market town with a lot of history. We often call in for something to eat, or to pick up a few bits of shopping from Morrisons when travelling on the A1. Fish and chips al fresco by the river is a treat!

This is a small town, compact, quiet and handily placed just off the A1. It is ideally situated between the Yorkshire Dales, the North York Moors and the facilities of York. There are a range of places to eat and drink, most within a short walk of each other.

It was only a short journey from the motorway.
It was only a short journey from the motorway. The Grantham Aims s located by a roundabout .On the other side of he road is the Ure river which has a beautiful waterfall.. There wasn't a great deal of road noise, despite the closeness of the road. We didn't explore the area as we were on route to Scotland, it only took 10mins to join the North bound A1.
The location is good, minutes from the A1(M), few minutes walking distance into Boroughbridge, with shops. Also, a few hundred yards from 'The Devil's arrows', three prehistoric standing stones, one higher than any at Stonehenge. Contactless key arrangements, plus arrangement for you to have milk delivery and so on makes it easy. The flat is on the first floor, with large kitchen/diner, bedroom and bathroom, with a 'snug' sofa/tv room in the eaves up a flight of stairs.
From the moment we checked in with Thomas on reception the stay was wonderful. All the staff were friendly, the food was exceptional and the spa was lovely and clean all aspects were working. Many a time we have visited hotels to find one aspect is out of order. The decor in our room was stunning with a fantastic power shower. Boroughbridge is a great base for exploring and we will definitely stay here again.
The apartment was well equipped, especially the kitchen. The accommodation is arranged over two levels.
Situated in the centre of Boroughbridge the location was ideal for shops, cafes and pubs.
Riverside paths and Canal towpath were both close, ideal for walking and offering access to open countryside.
There was parking at the property with a dedicated space for the apartment.
