Bourton on the Water is one of the prettiest little places we’ve visited. The village is clean. The buildings are neat. The shops and eateries are interesting. The clear, shallow Windrush stream flowing through it with its lively flock of ducks is captivating and the footbridges across the stream and paths beside it make the whole experience of the village very special.Guest review byRossAustralia - 10.0

Lovely old village, lots of small businesses and eateries. Very picturesque and well sited for exploration of the Cotswolds. Lovely antique shops and a candle shop were my favourite with the Motor Museum a close second. Walking along the riverbank in the evening was very relaxing. The village is easy to get around but there are a lot of tourists which could make using a mobility scooter hard work - lots of seats along the riverbank.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
We were in Bourton on the Water for 4 nights which was...
We were in Bourton on the Water for 4 nights which was perfect for us. We walked to Lower & Upper Slaughters villages as well as Stow on the Wold and Naunton. We took the bus to Bibury. We enjoy walking long distances and the towns are connected via many footpaths and trails. The English countryside is beautiful. It was like being in a storybook with the fairytale villages. In Bourton on the Water we really enjoyed our meals at Venezia, The Croft, Dial House & The Willow. In Bibury we really enjoyed lunch at Eleven. And in Naunton we had a great lunch at The Black Horse Inn - which is the only restaurant in town.Guest review byMarcellaCanada - 8.0

Stunning place, gorgeous shops and lovely people running those shops. My husband wanted to go to the motor museum which was excellent and I have to say the staff in their were so lovely, as was the lady in the Christmas shop too. We set off to get there for 9am although things didn't open until 9.30am (very peaceful and quiet at this time and being 6 months pregnant I needed the calm!) I would definitely do that if you are wanting to take photos, 11am ish it goes crazy with tourists and gets a little overwhelming there, we left by 1pm.Guest review byKirsty SUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Location with the small river running through the town was very picturesque. Lots of good eateries, Box Bush was our favourite bakery for breakfast. Had the oats with chia and also the yoghurt as well as various pastries, all yummy. Coffee was quite acceptable.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

The village itself is picturesque with a shallow river running through it , which children and dogs liked splashing around in. There is a varied supply of shops to visit .... they even had a fantastic Christmas shop ! We dined in the village for the 3 nights we were there and there was plenty of choices of restaurants/pubs to choose from . In the village itself there was a motor museum , a miniature village , a maze and Bird land which housed a huge variety of birds from around the world and we were lucky enough to see the staff feeding the penguins there and telling us all , everything we probably ever need to know about Penguins. Every evening it seemed that most people were just strolling along the river bank of stopping for food or drinks in the many locations available there.
