Located in Braintree, 6 km from Freeport Braintree, The Onley has a number of amenities including a restaurant, a bar, a garden and free WiFi. Guest rooms in the hotel are equipped with a kettle. Our second stay here at The Only, and there will be a third! The friendly and helpful staff really do make all the difference.
Situated in Braintree and with Freeport Braintree reachable within 1.5 km, Haus Serviced Living features a shared lounge, allergy-free rooms, free WiFi throughout the property and a garden. I liked the convenience cleanliness and comfortability of the Property
Situated 2 km from Freeport Braintree, Panfield House provides accommodation with a terrace, free WiFi, a 24-hour front desk, and valet parking. It is a stones throw from the centre of Braintree and has parking, everything you could want! Situated in Braintree, within 1.8 km of Freeport Braintree, Niche Water Tower Apartments is an accommodation offering city views. It was a nice and cosy apartment. Very quiet and peaceful. It has even got a balcony. Kitchen was fully equipped. The host was very friendly and quick to reply to any questions I had. I can’t recommend this enough and I’d happily stay at this place again if I’m in the area.
Can't say a lot as I was only there for one night, but it seemed a pleasant fairly quiet town with an attractive central square. Many white buildings, looked historic but no time to find out. Would think it is well worth getter no to know better. Trains from/to London Liverpool St.
We planned our trip to go to chelmsford races, would have been better if 'the night of queen' hadn't been cancelled , but enjoyed our stay, the hotel was good value for money and would definitely stay here again
Braintree was created as a Saxon trading post and so has a lot of history. It is now very handy for Stansted airport. Freeport shopping is just a stone's throw away with all the retail outlets plus cinema, swimming pool, tenpin bowling etc. A free bus runs there from Victoria street every 15 minutes.
Lots of places to eat and a nice street market on Saturday, very handy for exploring the area. interesting old buildings and nice shopping arcades. Town is kept very clean and was quiet in the evening.
My ancestors came from Braintree. I by mistake got off the train at Braintree Village Mall. I had a great lunch, bought two nice shirts, and was able to take a free bus ride to town. I was able to visit the library, museum, and other shops. I bought a ring in Braintree that will always be super meaningful to me. I also like the American connections to Braintree as well as the rich Christian history of John Bunyan, author of Pilgrim's Progress, and the Pilgrims who strayed there. The shops, food, buildings, and people were wonderful. AFTER I had a delicious lunch the café staff trusted me to go a block away to use an ATM machine as they didn't use a card. I found that very kind and trusting. I loved the shops and decent prices. I would have liked to stay longer if I hadn't had a schedule to follow!
I have since received a £100 parking fine for staying at the hotel even though I was a guest. At no time during my stay was I made aware that I needed to enter my registration details on a PDA in reception. It now seems that the parking firm are now a law unto themselves and I may or may not get the fine waved.
All staff were great. Breakfast and evening meals were excellent
