Not much, maybe the proximity to local amenities and shops but there are plenty of hotels within the same area. Some front of house staff are incredibly friendly and nice.
The Widemouth Manor is a warm friendly pub/ hotel and looks out over the sandy bay which is famous for its surfing. Just off the A39, access to Devon and Cornwall could not be better.

A lovely comfortable room with a great view over Bude and the beach. Although a little bit tired in the seating and decor in the lounge and bar, the bar prices were reasonable and the staff excellent. Breakfast was superb even though there was the odd delay in items being replenished. All in all I would recommend this hotel if you are staying in Bude.
With beautiful coastal views and a great beachfront location, The Beach has luxury rooms with stylish décor and free Wi-Fi. It also has a sun terrace and surfboard/bike storage.

Beautiful scenery, i'd recommend summerleaze beach as it is by far the best beach we've visited. Id personally stay close to town as otherwise you're out in the sticks with very few nice eatery or entertainment options about and taxis are hard to come by. The big sheep adventure park is well worth a visit for kids 3+. Great walking routes for dog 🐕 families too

I was down for the Jazz festival which I highly recommend.
I was down for the Jazz festival which I highly recommend. Due to the commitment to the various concerts I didn't have much time to explore the town very much. I perhaps should have booked a day or two either end of my visit to explore the town a bit better. There are a reasonable number of Pubs, I strongly recommend the Barrel, and the Carriers Arms. The Bude Tandoori was very good, and there are plenty of beach based activities to do.

From the pedalos on the canal to the sea pool, Bude was a delight to experience for this first timer to Cornwall.
Loads of local shops from souvenir shops to art galleries to restaurants intertwined with well known high-street names. There is plenty to offer all ages for when time away from the beach is needed or a break from trying to catch waves!
We visited the circus - Circus Funtasia - it was THE best circus we have been to since Millers Circus in Isle of Wight. This is definitely worth a visit when it’s in town.
The castle cafe is a hidden gem offering great pots of tea and choice of cakes and scones.
The donut cafe next to the pedalos sells the best hot chocolate I’ve ever tasted not to mention the divine cooked fresh in front of you trays of donuts!
The walks in the surrounding coastline were every ramblers dream. Stunning scenery with every step.
Bude was a blast! I’ll be back.
Sainsbury’s and Morrisons both on outskirts for stoking up campers, tents or b&b stores. Morrisons offers much cheaper fuel than the Shell garage just a few 100 yards below it!

Pedaloes were good fun and visit to the castle was free and interesting with a circus skills workshop. Lots of variety of food options.
The crazy golf was expensive at £20 for 4 of us and only 9 holes, also staff were not friendly.
🌅 Friendly people, i was made very welcome. Very clean rooms. All amenities you would need. Beautiful comfy pillows! Hot showers ! Lovely food and coffee.Good selection of teas to choose from in the room with six little cartons of milk for that extra cuppa.Tele with lots of channels that i actually wanted to watch, unlike the usual hotels/b&bs. Full length mirror.
Good clean furniture.
I will definitely book here every time i visit Bude !
😊
The room is really modern and clean, hotel is very well situated, plenty of car park spaces, restaurant, sea and bars just around the corner. the only noise we heard in the morning were from the geese!
Our breakfast was ok, nice, but could be better if prepared on demand.
Really appreciated the little biscuit in our room and little departing gift.
We will definitely stay there again if we go back to Bude. Thank you
This was the first time in Bude for us and the Hotel had fabulous views. Our room had an exceptional view of the beach including doors that opened onto a small balcony. The restaurant and bar facilities were very impressive for a smaller hotel and I can imagine how popular the terrace becomes during the warmer months. We would definitely stay again, preferable next summer. Lovely food too.
This is quite possibly the best stay we’ve had in Cornwall, our room was impeccable. Absolutely immaculate and the attention to detail was first class. Fully equipped with everything you needed. Lovely balcony with sea views too, shower, cream tea, bed, all just wonderful. Wish we could’ve stayed longer 😊😊😊😊
