Located in Bunessan in the Isle of Mull region, Scridain View features a patio. Providing free WiFi, the property also has a garden. Surprisingly large and spacious property, all the amenities you could need, lounge and kitchen with open views out over Loch Scridain and the Burg coastline. Quiet and remote, almost silent at night so you get a good nights sleep. Only used log burner one night as weather was mild and central heating system was warm enough on its own anyway. Didn't go out specifically looking for wildlife but had short-eared owls hunting close to the property, many seals at Fidden beach nearby, saw an otter off the north beach at Iona, red deer at various places across the island, and a couple of sea eagles also.
Featuring mountain views and only a 10-minute walk to sandy beaches, Iona Pods features pod accommodation in Iona on a working croft. Complimentary WiFi is provided. The pod is really clean, cozy and new. The host is really kind and helpful during the whole communication process and our stay there. The pod is comfortable for us 4 grown-ups to stay. The kitchen tools in the pod are handy and well -prepared (include the two burners hot plate, microwave kettle and cutlery). The communal shower and toilet place is clean too. Although the shower place may be a little bit slippery after shower. Maybe bringing a sandal for the shower will be a good idea. The owner is thoughtful for small details, like the lighting outside the pods and communal place. In sum, it was a lovely stay. Plus, it's just walking distance to an excellent white sand beach. Highly recommend for Iona pods.
Located in Iona, St Columba Hotel features 3 accommodation with private terraces. Among the various facilities of this property are a garden, a shared lounge and a bar. The reception staff were outstanding, especially Mairi. Our well-behaved dogs were made extremely welcome. The rooms are small, but have all you need for a short stay. We'll be back!
Located in Pennyghael, Craigrowan offers accommodation with free WiFi and TV, as well as a garden and a shared lounge. Some units include a seating area and/or a balcony. Craigrowan is the best B&B we've stayed in. Spacious, clean room. Fresh, hearty breakfast with loads of fruit. Sue made everything feel like home. It's an easy drive to Fionnphort for boat trips to Iona, Staffa, but away from the tourist traps of town. Wander down to the Pennygheal Hotel for supper. Craigrowan is a peaceful and welcoming place.
Located in Pennyghael, Pennyghael Hotel has a garden and bar. Guests can enjoy a selection of British cuisine in the on-site restaurant. All rooms in the hotel are equipped with a flat-screen TV. The whole experience was great. Beautiful location and very helpful frindly staff
Very well equipped. & comfortable. Well off the beaten track so not for those who like to rush about! But wonderfully tranquil & amazing views ! quite a trip I imagine to eat out or shop so go fully prepared - This is rural Mull! Very convenient for Iona ferry & Eagle Watch..
Friendly village shop and convenient location for Iona. Small heritage centre with lovely staff. Village pub convenient but with quite basic food-bakehouse looked good ( didn't visit) but better restaurants nearby Fionnphort.
Bunessan is a lovely wee place. Has shops post office, local pub hotel etc and everyone very friendly .The Bakehouse restaurant great for evening meal although you need to book as very popular. Its a great location to base yourself on hols. You can find a lot of accomodation either beside or looking onto the water in or around Bunessan. We stayed at Ardtun just a mile off the road to Bunessan. The village is also just 5 miles from Fionnphort and the crossing to Iona which is worth a visit or two during your stay. The Keel Row pub here has live music. Check the notices to see what night they're playing. Other lovely beaches within 1 1/4 miles at Ardalanish where you can also visit the Isle of Mull Weavers at the same time and see them at work. Visit the shop and have a coffee while you're there.Staff show you round the Mill, it's free and the staff are really welcoming and friendly. All in all great location for visiting and exploring the south west of the island. Enough to do here on this side of the island if you dont want to spend all your time driving long distances.
