Hotel in Bury Saint Edmunds
Located in Bury Saint Edmunds, 0.9 mi from Bury St Edmunds, Chantry Hotel features accommodations with a bar, free private parking and a shared lounge. Really well maintained and restored historic property. The room my daughter was in was up on the second floor with a lovely canopied double bed which she said was extremely comfortable. Access to this floor is via a narrow quarter turn staircase so if you have any mobility problems best to ask room on the first floor or with easier accessibility. We managed the stairs without a problem but just to be aware. The room facilities were excellent. The hotel provides an excellent choice of breakfast most of which is locally sourced. The hotel is in a great location close to the Abbey Gardens, the Theatre Royal and all the other attractions of Bury St Edmunds. It also provides car parking - what more could you ask for!

The Fox is a 15th-century inn, around 5 minutes’ walk from the center of Bury St Edmunds. We always enjoy our stay at The Fox. There are multiple reasons we love it - The cleanliness and spaciousness of the rooms is amazing. It’s always clean and fully stocked with tea, plenty of toilet paper, water, towels etc. The Fox is located SO conveniently just steps from The Abbey ruins which is a stunning walk through beautiful gardens. Then just another five minutes or so to the center of town. Anything you need is just steps from The Fox. The food at The Fox is near perfect-we love it so much we typically end up eating there for every meal. The biggest and most important aspect of The Fox is the staff, who are ALWAYS so helpful, sweet and thoughtful- making every effort to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. This time I managed to forget something in the pub almost every time We went in there and Sam was so sweet and kept it aside for me every time- keeping it safe until I got there. Sam was A HIGHLIGHT of our trip, offering assistance and suggestions at every opportunity. So quick to help... so kind, friendly and super sweet. It’s rare you meet someone so personable and thoughtful on your travels and I feel we’re really blessed with her presence. The Fox is a great place to stay there’s no question but it’s made about a thousand times even better by having Sam at the helm :)

The Grange Hotel, an attractive Tudor-style country house hotel, lies in Thurston in the heart of Suffolk. The hotel is set in its own secluded gardens amid open countryside. Nice country hotel with slightly old-school charm a short, 10-minute drive away from Bury St Edmunds and offering decent value for money. The room was clean, the hotel itself as well. It was also quiet, the view to the garden was nice, parking space was plentiful and the countryside surroundings nice (although we didn't get to go for a walk).

Despite living only an hours drive away, this is my first visit to Bury St Edmunds. I thoroughly enjoyed walking around all the ruins and was amazed at how big the original buildings would have been. Will certainly return.
so much to see and do, abbey gardens wonderful, the town is vibrant and lots of 'independant' stores, great M&S recommend 'Halycyon days' for treatments The One Bull for sunday lunch Giggling Squid for Thai food Maison Blue for fine dining experience was exceptional
Very easy town to walk around and see the sites. We visited the Cathedral, St Mary's Church, Abbey ruins, Abbey gardens, Moyse Museum. The gardens and ruins were particularly beautiful. We eat in a variety of restaurants and cafes.
We loved the Abbey Gardens and could have spent much more time there. The Really Good Coffee Shop on the corner opposite was excellent for a mid morning break. Don't miss St Mary's Church close by with the tomb of Henry VIII's sister Mary Queen of France. Sadly battered by extremists but still worth a visit, as is the church.
We felt so welcome here in BSE. The free parking from Tuesday afternoon until Wednesday morning was a real stress-buster, as we didn’t have to think constantly about whether or not we were going over our allotted time. The town itself is a little jewel, with gardens, artworks, coffee shops, a real open market packed with healthy foods, street musicians, restaurants, and a huge variety of shops (many small or artisan enterprises) catering for all tastes. We had a wonderful couple of days here and are already planning our next trip.
Great for a relaxing few days - we stayed four nights, just right, although sorry to go, we like it there. Some great eateries, and the fabulous Abbey Gardens for strolling, and relaxing in the sun or shade with a book. Our hotel was great - Chantry Hotel did great B&B.

Lovely little home from home cottage on a quiet lane in the heart of the old town of Bury St. Edmunds. 5 mins walk from the theatre, Greene King Brewery, Abbey and dozens of pubs, bars, coffee bars and restaurants. Kathryn is a wonderful owner who could not have been more obliging. Generous helpings of snacks, drinks and continental breakfast included. Fantastic value by comparison with the city centre hotels.

Spacious room with converted barn theme. Open roof design with electric roof window with electric blind. Huge wet room type shower room fully inclusive for disabled people. Often these spaces are more hospital than hotel. Not in this case, it was well designed for all, eg chrome handrails instead of the usual institutional type. Well done 👏.
Great location with free parking and within easy walking distance of the town centre. The hotel is very well presented with rooms, bar and breakfast room bright, comfortable and nicely decorated. Bed was extremely comfortable. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was delicious. Thoroughly enjoyable stay. Would definitely recommend.
Cheap and cheerful hotel, very basic in terms of comfort and how facilities are maintained. One night stay is acceptable, if you plan to stay longer i would suggest looking elsewhere. Staff where very helpful during our stay. Essentially you get what you pay for, this is a basic hotel. Having said that the room was clean and warm.
From the time we arrived until our departure we could not fault the hotel. Attending a family funeral took us to Bury St Edmunds and we were delighted with our choice of hotel, the ambiance, location , the restaurant food and the staff who just couldn’t not be faulted. We will be back !!
Bury Saint Edmunds
Pretty much everything was perfect for us. So much better than going to a general hotel. Little touches like having milk in the fridge and board games/ dvds available made it more of a home from home feel. Thankyou to very understanding and accommodating hosts!
We were not expecting the hotel to be so lovely for the price we paid! The room was really big, the bed was comfy, the shower was powerful & there was a proper hairdryer in the room which was a lovely start. The staff were all really friendly & helpful
Bury Saint Edmunds
The apartment is stylish, well equipped, very clean and in the perfect location for the town centre. This was our third visit to this apartment and we’ll be back again. We never stay anywhere else in Bury now that we’ve found this lovely place.
Bury Saint Edmunds
Room was very small . The view from the window was horrible some tatty old umbrellas in a weed derelict area. No hotel lounge area, you could only sit in the pub on hard chairs at tables. This should have the sad face

Michael, our host was very welcoming and attentive to our needs. Breakfast was very good. Room comfortable. Grounds impressive, well kept. Hotel within easy reach of our evening venue.
Very clean and quiet and staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is only 15 mins drive to town and train station. I will definitely stay there again for my next summer vacation.
Lovely relaxed old style hotel in a very old historic building. Super clean, delightful staff and an excellent breakfast. A short walk from the town centre.

The grounds and bike ride available were very enjoyable, and there were plenty of children and family facilities, including a great heated pool. Food was lovely too.
