Set in Yelverton in the Devon region, Driftwood Cottage features a patio and lake views. The accommodation is 23 km from Looe, and guests benefit from private parking available on site and free WiFi. This was a wonderful place to stay. The host went over and above to make us welcome. Lots of lovely flowers around the house, warm home cooked bread. Fresh farm eggs, fresh fruit and more. Beautiful scenery. An amazing place. Thanks.
Pretty riverside village with country views. Tamar Inn had a band on Saturday night and provides pub food. There is a little café for breakfasts and lunch. Bus service. Riverside walks. Canoe hire subject to the tide times. Nearby, there are the NT sites of Cotehele House and Morwellham Quay - both worth a visit.
I love this pretty riverside village located at the foot of a beautiful viaduct on which runs the Plymouth to Gunnislake line. I would recommend the train trip, if only to see the view from the viaduct. Good pub with tasty food and a good cafe serving beverages and cakes.
This is a small village but the view of the river is excellent. The pub next to the river looked after use with good food and friendly service. We did several walks after our evening meal along the river but we walked to the old church and other locations outside of the village and these involved quiet a steep climb either up the side roads or wooded paths
It is a beautiful place for exploring/walking attractive countryside. You have to be prepared for walking up steep hills, but it is well worth it. There are a couple of good pubs that serve good food, where everyone was friendly. The down side was that there is no grocery store in the village at the moment, but I think the village inhabitants are working on a plan and hopefully that will lead to the old store being reopened. The coffee shop in the village had high recommendations but we were so busy we didn't have time to go there! However we managed to use the ice-cream parlour - beautiful ice-creams! We walked up to Cotehele, a National Trust property. A lovely place to visit and the views are stunning. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Calstock.
Very Good full English breakfast and bed is comfortable.
