Everything was exceptional during our stay. Christopher (who works the night shift) was phenomenal with checking us in late at night, as well as the support staff. This is one of the best places we stayed for at an Airbnb. The amenities, color, scheme, appliances, and niceties were just spectacular. The location of this Airbnb is centrally located within a block of a healthy and wholesome food market. It is easily accessible to call a Uber or take the local bus into town. My husband and I were visiting for a professional (I spoke at Cambridge university) and holiday vacation (personal trip). This truly is a must day for anyone , who desires, peace, beauty, great amenities, Zen, care, and overall quality services.

Best location in Cambridge - on the river and quiet, and sympathetically and cleverly decorated with local touches. Good value in a great spot. While not a new building, the hotel has been nicely renovated and has a great bar and outside dining area on the river

We only stayed for a night. Everyone was really nice and helpful. Our room was very cosy and the bed was really comfortable. It's at a great location, just a 10 minute walk to the city center and being so close to the train station made carrying our luggage easier for us. Will definitely stay here next time we are in Cambridge.

FAQs about hotels in Cambridge

The Inspiration for Genius

Open-plan and open-minded, Cambridge is best known for universities dating to the 13th century. King’s College is the most popular, and its chapel choir is internationally famous. Although accessed from cobbled King’s Parade, it is best viewed from a punt on The Backs, the part of the River Cam behind.

Taking a flat bottomed punt in Cambridge is an institution and gives great views of Queen’s College Mathematical Bridge and the Bridge of Sighs at St John’s College. Upstream is Jesus Green, site of an outdoor pool and a fantastic beer festival. Next to this is Midsummer Common, a park home to the annual Strawberry Fair (and the occasional cow). Opposite are the college boathouses - get up early to see the rowers in action!

Cows also roam the Mill Pond meadow, where the river leads south to Grantchester, a quaint village with a lovely cafe. Places to eat in Cambridge include riverside restaurants and typical English pubs like The Eagle, drinking hole of DNA founders Watson & Crick.

Cambridge shopping options include a daily market (in Market Square), the Grafton Centre and the exclusive Grand Arcade, the latest addition. The Scott Polar Museum and free Fitzwilliam Museum are 2 of many fantastic Cambridge museums.

Stansted Airport is connected by train to the city’s accommodations choices on Booking.com.

Beautiful city with lots to do and see.

Beautiful city with lots to do and see. The food eateries are excellent, with lots of choices. My wife and I signed up to a historical treasure hunt app and this was brilliant taking us around the city with great clues to find and lots of history snippets as we went, was great value and fun.

I lived in Cambridge for a couple of years in the mid-60s, during which time I did not get around to doing any of the tourist bits, being too busy with everyday life & thinking I could do it later! My oldest Granddaughter is now studying at Cambridge University & I managed to visit her there late this year - short stay because we are both busy. As is not uncommon, I find, I managed to pack in more 'tourist sightseeing & experiences' in the short period of my visit in Nov 2025 than in the whole of the time I lived there, visiting my granddaughter's college in the university, walking through the extensive parks & the thing I most wanted to do but had not done before: punting on the Cam, my granddaughter reclining in the back of the vessel, taking photos (but none for public consumption). Yes, many parts of Cambridge are well worth visiting, though some domestic housing, & routine shopping areas, are unattractive. It is easy to walk around the the attractive areas of interest to tourists. There are some beautiful old buildings, places of historic & architectural importance & many open scenic areas, all concentrated in a relatively compact area in the city centre, with plenty of good places to eat, drink &/or be merry.

First time visiting Cambridge. We enjoyed.

First time visiting Cambridge. We enjoyed. It's a lovely city with lots to see and clearly lots of history and character. We were only there for a short visit (i day in the city) so can't really comment in detail. We were visiting Bletchley Park in Milton Keynes on the way home so Cambridge was a good stop over for a bit of sightseeing too. We had booked to see a Gig in the Corn Exchange but it was cancelled last minute....so we never got to see the venue. Hey ho eh?

Used to love Cambridge but this visit shows that it is now not the place it was. Luckily we were just visiting our son who works there. Maybe tourists would like it but we're not really looking with those eyes. To us it seemed overcrowded and manically busy. Ice skating Arena in a quiet area near the park and ride, was a good place for a family visit.

Apart from being almost overwhelmed by the tourists (and it was mid-November) it was great. Just making your way along the pavements was difficult and when crossing the street, the bicycles are a threat. The university premises have wonderful architecture but you can't see much of it because it's closed to the public during term time.
