The place was amazing. We got the family room with the sea view. Plus the breakfast room was the cutest thing.

11 longstone house is set in Carbis Bay. Offering free private parking, the apartment is 2297 feet from Carbis Bay Beach. Excellent clean, comfortable & stylish apartment close to Carbis Bay. Beautiful coastal walks to beach & St Ives, easy drive around Penwith. Friendly & helpful hosts. Well equipped kitchen - additions of sieve/colander & bread/chopping knife would be assets. We hope to return!
Located in Carbis Bay in the Cornwall region, The Loft is a 3-star property boasting free WiFi. Located 1.3 mi from Carbis Bay Beach, the property features a garden and free private parking. Margaret was a wonderful host and has created wonderful holiday accommodation for two. The cottage is very well equipped which makes for a very holiday hone. Wouldn’t hesitate to come back.
There were horrendously noisy building works taking place during our stay which we were not forewarned about. We paid £350.00 per night x 3 and the photos of the “superior room with sea view” just didn’t match out expectations. Room absolutely tiny, I have seen bathrooms bigger than this. The trip was for our Honeymoon and the building works and the small size of the room ruined our stay. The staff were lovely and I cannot fault them as ultimately they’re not in charge of the rate we paid but the owners need to look at this. I did complain during my stay and the reception manager offered me a slightly larger room but it didn’t have a balcony and that’s what I had requested in my “superior room with balcony.” The reception staff could see how distressed I was so I would have thought something better could have been offered e.g some complimentary food or a treatment. We spent a further £214.00 with the hotel on drinks and treatments. (After out £1,050.00). I would have thought after the room disappointment and the horrid building works they could have knocked this off our bill. The hotel is beautiful but I would be very hesitant to recommend it at present.
I'm not really qualified to talk about Carbis Bay itself. I was there to walk the Coastal Path which is above the Bay, but I did go down on to the sands along the way. The area is very beautiful. There were lots of young families there so I suppose it must be a good place for them. One plus is that there is a little railway that runs along the coast between St Ives and St Erth. Ticket offices, short journeys, very convenient and well used by tourists. If you're going to eat out, during the day or at night, best to book in advance. If you're going in a cooler season (I went in October) make sure to take warm clothes as there can be rain and wind.
Carbis Bay was so relaxing and tranquil. It was almost like being in another part of the world. The views were spectacular when walking from our accommodation to the beach. Just so beautiful and peaceful.
Carbis bay is lovely. I would also advise St ives. Lovely fishing harbour. Plenty of places to eat. And some quaint little shops. If you like eating out. We found 3 lovely pubs. The cornish arms in hayle. The blood and bucket in hayle. And the balnoon inn. In st ives. The beach in hayle is beautiful. Its a lovely sandy beach. Overall carbis bay and St ives is well worth a visit.
A beautiful sandy beach , perfect for families with young children as the water is calmer. Toilets are pretty clean. The beach can be accessed from both ends either via some steep narrow steps (tricky with toddlers!) Or via the main road route. There are not many facilities to buy refreshments and the hotel is very expensive (£6 for 2 cans of coke!) So best to come prepared.
Living in London, this part of England truly amazed and inspired us. The landscape is absolutely beautiful even in this rainy May. The golden sand gives the sea water the colour that you wnat to see for that holiday feeling. It is quite so osrt of family oriented holiday. Don't expect clubs or anything like that. St Ives is just around the corner for more dining options. The harbour is lovely. Transport is also good but need to plan ahead.
Made very welcome, lovely clean property - the first thing that hits you. A hamper of goodies and essentials in the fridge - very thoughtful especially after a long journey. Well looked after by agent. Nice outdoor setting for bbq and relaxing. The area was beautiful and 5 minutes from the beach which was a bonus. Could walk into St Ives in 30 mins, buses at the top of the road if not feeling energetic and train station (Carbis Bay) 5 minutes away walking. Would highly recommend and definitely hire the house again.
Lovely ‘quirky’ and ‘characterful’ cottage. Despite being on the main road you wouldn’t know as the property is set back and as such it is very quiet. Felt like a home from home - everything that we needed was available (and more). Very good WiFi. Very private with nice secluded garden. Good location - a 10 minute walk down to Carbis Bay beach and the coast path and with a Tesco just up the road.
Accommodation was comfortable and modern and breakfasts superb. Location was perfect with easy bus routes everywhere and a sandy beach close by to walk to. Restaurant across the road is very good. Hosts are very friendly and helpful. Lots of places to visit nearby. Very impressed with this delightful hotel and would definitely stay again.
Absolutely wonderful location overlooking Gwithian/Godrevy. Stay was lovely - the house and garden was great - super close to the wonderful Carbis bay which could be accessed quickly down a pretty footpath. Carbis was super providing a lot of shelter in strong SW wind and only a short walk from St. Ives.
Location was excellent, set on a hill very near to Carbis Bay beach. St Ives is just a 20 minute walk along the coastal path. The apartment itself was well furnished and decorated, with lovely comfy beds and fluffy towels. The owner was excellent at communication and was quick to answer any questions.
Very friendly and clean, breakfast was excellent, location was great with bus stops outside the house and easy access to Carbis Bay, St. Ives and on to Lands end or the south coast. Room was most comfortable and clean with a good view of the bay. Couldn't be more friendly and helpful.
Very convenient location if hiking the coastal path. Beautiful approach on trail through village. Comfy, well decorated and furnished room. Full pub menu for evening meal and good breakfast in large conservatory. Staff busy running B&B plus pub but chatty and welcoming.
Amazing location. Very short drive to St Ives and walking distance from Carbis Bay. As Rose Cottage is tucked away on a private estate, it is peaceful despite St Ives and Carbis Bay being quite busy!
It’s quite near Carbis Bay beach, like 8-10 minutes walk and you’re there. Very relaxed and also you can hop on a bus to St. Ives’ centre or to Penzance which is convenient.
Owner/Staff very helpful & friendly. Thoroughly recommend the hotel. Very relaxed atmosphere.
Staff hotel and food truly excellent
