The hosts were so friendly and welcoming and had left us some welcome treats. The cottage was spacious and very comfortable and had everything we needed. The cottage is at the end of a long track in the middle of the countryside so very quiet and peaceful. We had a lovely few days recharging.

Fferm Glanyrynys Farm, hotel in Carmarthen

Fferm Glanyrynys Farm features garden views, free WiFi and free private parking, set in Carmarthen, 34 km from Grand Theatre.

We received a warm welcome on arrival. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The beds were particularly comfortable-quite firm and supportive and much like those we have at home. It's a small B&B which suits us perfectly. The house is in a fairly remote location, and there are no street lights which makes it a lovely getaway for peace and quiet. It's very clearly a working farm, that you access by driving across 2 fields on a manmade track. Breakfast was lovely, with plenty of choice. There's a choice of pubs about 10 minutes drive for evening meals. Several attractions within an hour of the B&B are definitely worth a visit, making it a good base for a break.

The town itself seems to be on a down, although it was our first time there for many years and it is a good central location amid nice countryside and attractions if you don't want/need to be actually on the coast. Streets were a bit rowdy on the Saturday night we stayed, but that's not so unusual these days, sadly.

A very pleasant, historic market town.

A very pleasant, historic market town. Many cafes and bars, pedestrianised areas. Surprisingly quiet on a weekend visit. Gateway to west Wales, great for use as a base to explore Tenby and other locations further west. Short drive to beach on an estuary, which had free parking.

Carmarthen is a nice little town, big enough to be interesting but not too big to explore. The remains of the Castle are easily accesible and there's a nice park on the outskirts. If you're travelling by train, the train station is a reasonable walk from the town centre.

Laugharne is an interesting little place, and not too far from the many fine Pembrokeshire beaches all along the coast from Saundersfoot to Freshwater West. If you stay in Carmarthen be sure to go to Llandeilo where you will find Gold Mines and National Trust’s Dinefwr Park and Castle is well worth a stop.

We saw the town on a Sunday. Vey quiet.

We saw the town on a Sunday. Vey quiet. However, there is more to the town than first glance (just), but too much retail - so much unoccupied. Given history, very little historic class on view. The hey day has gone, what now? Perfect accommodation, very close to town.

This is the second time myself and my husband have stayed here and we did a few extra days this time, and it didn’t disappoint! Fabulous hotel in such a great location to the town you can walk to bars and restaurants or shops and it’s a great location for getting out and visiting wales too. The staff are incredible and nothing is too much trouble. The breakfast is so delicious and lots of choice too. Highly recommended and I’ll definitely be returning in the future.
