Situated in the heart of the fashionable Montpellier district, Malmaison Cheltenham blends modern architecture and design with traditional regency elegance.

First time at the Malmaison Cheltenham and it exceeded our expectations. Lovely hotel, nice big room with a balcony, bathroom very modern. From the moment we arrived, the receptionists and breakfast team looked after us extremely well, always smiling and positive. Breakfast was delicious. Added bonus of onsite parking and unlike many places, only charged £5 for one night parking, despite being only 3 minute walk to the nearest shops. Really enjoyed our stay, the Malmaison team made it perfect.

Entertainment there is a plenty whether it be theatres cinema or sport. Shopping is at a premium with such a variety of availability from Cavendish House to to Primark and everything in between. So many specialist restaurants, pubs and takeaways to choose from whatever your palette requires, and as for the history architecture, what more can one say?

    Beautiful architecture throughout.

Beautiful architecture throughout. Very good shopping in the centre of town with two arcades. Very nice small individual shops selling everything you could wish for - but quite expensive! Lots of restaurants- The Ivy is in a beautiful building with a high round roof. Restaurants like The Ivy, Cote etc have ‘prix fixe’ menus for two or three courses. Very easy to get to nearby places in the Cotswolds like Broadway and Winchcombe. Lovely scenery around and parks and open spaces to walk in Cheltenham itself.

Cheltenham is a lively, cultured town with lots going on and plenty of places to eat. We go for a week each October to attend the Times Literary Festival - a treat for all book lovers. Welcoming place to stay although the station is quite a way from the centre of town. The steam railway (see the photo), near the famous racecourse, provides a wonderful day out.

I'm really impressed with the look and feel of some of the older traditional parts of the town. Some lovely architecture. Also some very pleasant independent shops, restaurants and coffee shops.

Cheltenham was wonderful and the accommodation itself good. However the booking and checkin procedures were an absolute nightmare (see main review) and unless ‘Pivotal’ can improve them they should have no place on booking.com. We have used the site for years and have never had an experience quite like this

A charming and peaceful location with wonderful architecture, parks and places of interest. The Racecourse is a must to see. Various festivals throughout the year make this quite an exciting town to visit either by rail or road.
