Cheltenham was wonderful and the accommodation itself good. However the booking and checkin procedures were an absolute nightmare (see main review) and unless ‘Pivotal’ can improve them they should have no place on booking.com. We have used the site for years and have never had an experience quite like this
A charming and peaceful location with wonderful architecture, parks and places of interest. The Racecourse is a must to see. Various festivals throughout the year make this quite an exciting town to visit either by rail or road.
I am a student in Cheltenham. The place is peaceful, away from hustle bustle of London. It exhibits a lot of greenery, good and helpful people, restaurants with diverse cuisine (but expensive) and clubs, fun fair (check dates online) in Montpellier Gardens and year round festivals. People mostly walk to nearby places because of good weather though the days are mostly rainy with very light showers. The main area is the town centre which includes major shops and the market. P.S.: Must visit Cheltenham and take a walking tour rather than in a vehicle.
Cheltenham is easy to walk around, Parking can be expensive, You have to choose your restaurants carefully, many are chains with mediocre food and rip off charges for some drinks and watch the service charges. Choose carefully and you can get excellent food at a reasonable price. Most of the large shops are there, but plenty of small shops offering a wide choice are in the town. If you pick up a What's On you will be spoilt for choice. Excellent Parks and plenty of historic properties to visit. You cannot fit it all in in a couple of days
I really liked the Spa, I really like the tv. You could cast your phone to the tv and watch Disney plus and YouTube. The tv played classical fm which was beautiful. There was a shower and a bath and very lovely setting to the room. Beautiful gardens you could read in and relax.
We were only visiting Cheltenham for one afternoon and evening so it isn't very easy to write a review. However, when we usually go away for a long weekend we like to find somewhere with lots of charity shops, antique emporiums/shops and bric-a-brac/craft shops and unfortunately Cheltenham doesn't appear to have many of these - we only saw 2 charity shops and no antique or craft shops. On the plus side was the amazing place we had dinner at (recommended by the hotel). It was the Old Court House. The food isn't cheap but it is excellent and well worth the treat. The staff behind the bar and in the restaurant were helpful and friendly and the place itself is packed with interesting things to look at. It's well worth the visit just to go down the toilets which are in the old cells under the courtroom!
Great situation to Cheltenham town centre, which is only a short walk away, and a Lidl in really close proximity to the house. The interior was beautiful, the beds were really comfortable, beautiful linen and lovely plump pillows. the kitchen had plenty of space and amenities for you to use. Netflix and Sky was a lovely personal touch.
Cheltenham
This was one of the best nights stays we have had, a group of 4 businessmen working in Cheltenham. Could not book 4 hotel rooms in the same hotel due to Races. After this stay we would book again without hesitation. Perfect location in the city centre. Sharing a house was much more relaxing than hotel cars and restaurants.
A beautiful small hotel in a very quiet, leafy area, but only 15minutes walk to the main shopping streets and restaurants. Our room on the ground floor was very spacious and clean. Breakfast was delicious, with a great selection of teas.
the hotel is beautiful, room is very spacious, deco is very charming, location is perfect right next to the town centre and very close to train station. The hotel is also surrounded with very nice gardens, I truly enjoyed my stay!
Cheltenham
Had everything we needed and more. Host was helpful and made us feel very welcome. Apartment was spacious and comfortable and close to town centre. Continental breakfast was more generous than some top hotel we have stayed at.
Our room was beautiful - and very comfortable. They also gave us a lovely welcome package for our dog, which included treats, a dog bed and poo bags. Location of the hotel was great for exploring Cheltenham!
Cheltenham
