Listed in the Domesday Book, this historic manor house hotel is set in acres of beautiful grounds, in a delightful Wiltshire village convenient for Bath, Bristol, Cheltenham and Swindon. This place is a dream. My room was on the ground floor, with access to the garden. Such an amazing view & so quiet. I only had dinner there, but the food was tasty and the staff was very friendly. I would definitely recommend. Can't wait to visit them again.
In the heart of stunning parkland, the Bowood is a luxury hotel with championship golf course and a spa, set in the Wiltshire countryside and with good access to the A4. The hotel and grounds are stunning, serene and luxurious. The staff are welcoming, helpful and professional. We loved the spa which we accessed for the full day on the day of checkout at no extra cost. We stayed in a standard room which was huge with a lovely bathroom, air-con and beautiful views. Unbelievable value, we very much look forward to returning.
Cromhall Farm offers self-catering accommodations in the quiet rural hamlet of Easton Piercy, 2½ miles away from Castle Combe and 25 minutes' drive from Bath. The garden cottage was lovely and cosy, breakfast was provided. The owner was very friendly and helpful, and was only too willing to help if we needed anything, like places to eat, supermarkets, national trust places. It was set in a peaceful location and not far by car to get to different places.
Annex in Chippenham with Sky TV, Parking and WIFI is located in Chippenham. The accommodations is 21 mi from Swindon, and guests benefit from private parking available on site and free WiFi. Lovely cosy, quiet Annex. Easily accessible from the station and there is a Morrison’s within walking distance. The communication from the owner was absolutely excellent. They were quick to respond if I asked anything and I was given full details of what to do before I arrived. Very comfortable bed, underfloor heating was perfect, the room is certainly warm enough. Nice and private too, you enter from a side entrance The water pressure was absolutely incredible. You could have a shower in 30 seconds!! Absolutely loved the shower with the handheld as well as the fixed above your head
Artisan Cottage is set in Chippenham. The accommodations is an hour by train from London, and guests benefit from private parking available on site, a welcome pack and free WiFi. Absolutely stunning cottage, excellent hosts and a fantastic base to explore the surrounding countryside. Highly recommended!
Located in Chippenham, 28 mi from Gloucester, The Manor Farm Alderton provides a garden and free WiFi. Guests at the farm stay can enjoy a continental breakfast. I had a wonderful few nights staying at The Manor Farm. Victoria is such a lovely host, and her dogs are gorgeous and very friendly. It's a beautiful B&B and the room was lovely (very very comfy bed, beautiful decor and a great shower). I was very well looked after and fed during breakfast. Can't recommend this place enough, and I will definitely be back.
Nice town, visited the Museum and staff were very knowledgable, unfortunate it was in the Covid time so couldn't see everything we wanted to. Plenty of nice cafes to eat outside at table with friendly people.
Chippenham region is very close to Bath and Stonehenge. We have used the area as a stop by from Bath to Oxford and finally realized that we could spend a day more there to explore area. Don't miss the famous White Horses, sculptured figures on the hills.
the hotel itself was very dated and run down, the bathroom for was dusty, the shower mat was discoloured the towel rail was dirty, the double bed frame was broken at the front, the beds themselves were uncomfortable and being 8 months and a half pregnant it didn’t do me any justice (I barely slept). My step daughter felt uncomfortable to take her socks off as the place just didn’t feel clean. The pillows were flat. The kettle had scale in it. I dare look at the mattresses. If it wasn’t so late at night and we would of possibly not stayed here. And the break was something else, we ordered 3 full Englishs which looked like it was under and possibly out date. It’s over priced too. AVOID at all costs!! This place needs more than some loving it needs closing down to be quite honest if you can’t maintain the basic need to run a hotel don’t open one. Won’t be returning that’s for sure.
Compact town centre with standard Anytown High Street, usual choice of national chain, branded watering holes and eateries. Pedestrianised area from hotel to the local shops, rather complex one way traffic system around town. A value for money base to stay in order to explore Wilts and Avon around the area. Plenty of charming villages and snug pubs, only 20mins from Bath by train (30mins by car, but use Bath Park&Ride) and much cheaper to stay.
Had a lovely stay visiting relatives who showed us around a lovely, friendly place. Enjoyed walks through the parks with their excellent facilities and visiting areas of the nearby Cotswolds. Excellent coffee houses and places to eat. Bought quirky items for gifts and gardens at the local garden centre.
Loved the location....beautiful, well kept grounds, greenery everywhere. My two sons aged 9 and 6 loved the adventure playground at Bowood House, and we loved our tour around the House. A special place, we didn’t want to leave.
