#1 of 1 hotels in Churston Ferrers
This was a trip back in time. There is a relaxed friendly atmosphere and a warm welcome from the staff. The food is well prepared and breakfast is the best I’ve had at a hotel. The rooms are basic, but that’s the charm of this hotel. If your looking for a modern hotel with all the fine fixtures and fittings then this is not the place for you. But if your looking for history, charm and a warm welcome then you need to stay here. It’s a place that I will be returning to and will recommend to all my friends and family.
Love the charm of the inn and have stayed twice before and nothing has changed , needs up dating and the staff need to smile more . Evening meal was ok , the room was the room was the same one we had stayed it before and was just the same ! The bed was comfy and breakfast was good .
The village is tiny but a great base for walking and exploring. The coastal path is not far away and there are other countryside walks. It is within an easy drive of lots of local towns with plenty of places to eat. We had great walks with the dog. There is a lovely restaurant on the front at Paignton near the pier. We would really recommend it. And they allow dogs!
We really enjoyed our stay. I loved the hotel from the second we arrived. Had a lovely feel, really interesting and such character. Room was really comfortable and clean with good tea making facilities for those that love a brew. Would definitely stay there again. Breakfast was fabulous. Will stay in the summer to enjoy the ambient lounge seating area out the front.
Stayed in both types of rooms at the manor (£145.00 and £85.00) we stayed in £85.00 this visit and was very disappointed with the room, the bed was very uncomfortable we both woke up with backache, room very dark, handle missing on wardrobe but the most shocking was the shower which worked from the bath taps not acceptable. We have stayed in a lot of guest houses this year in Brixham and they cost around £85.00 and have much better facilities and the breakfasts are just as good, such a shame because the surroundings are lovely and would love to come back hope you sort out the cheaper rooms if I was asked what I would pay for the room we stayed in it would be around £50.00 including breakfast
Location is good - walks public transport and taxis reasonable distance and price. Bed and mattress was very comfortable. Drinks and biscuits in the room too. Breakfast was great and the staff went the extra mile (boiled egg and soldiers, extra coffee and warm croissants) A really relaxed atmosphere heaped in history.
“A lovely greeting by the man in reception who show showed us to our room and couldn't have been more helpful. A very quirky hotel and will definitely be staying again in the future. ”
“A hotel with real character set in a beautiful part of Devon. Quirky and laid back it's a welcome contrast to corporate blandness. Staff are generally friendly and attentive and the whole experience quite homely!”
“We were given a free upgrade to the honeymoon suite 😁 it was a beautiful hotel really lovely staff and yummy breakfast ☺”
“The hotel is very dog friendly. There is a dining area and breakfast area where you can take your dog rather than leave it in your room or car. ”
“The hotels history was amazing, dog friendly”
