United KingdomStarted with the staff, we got a call the afternoon of our stay as we were arriving several hours after the estimate to in quire about our dinner plans. we would be arriving after the kitchen closed, so the owner offered to have a couple of salads made for us. The hotel has the classic British pub-hotel charm, but the room had a nice modern feel to it with a wonderful bathroom. air conditioning would’ve been nice, but the fan did the job.
Great staff, selection of beverages and breakfast was fabulous.

There is plenty to do in Cirencester and around, a good choice of pubs and shops [lots of boutique style as well as larger well known brands] regular Markets in the main market place, a lovely church, undercover markets, tea shops, library, a museum and the parks, especially nice in the dryer, warmer weather
Plenty of places within easy reach if you have your own transport, and the buses run regularly to nearby towns too

Easy to walk around the little streets and alleyways.
Easy to walk around the little streets and alleyways. Lots of independent shops. The Black Horse pub has great pub food at very reasonable prices. The church is amazing, with fantastic stained glass windows. We stayed at the Fleece and have already booked to return next December.

A beautiful old town with a stunning Abbey, plenty of shops and places to eat (lots of them independent which is a great bonus!) We particularly enjoyed the Corn Exchange Antiques market & the Friday outdoor market
Breakfast at the Kings Head in the centre of town was absolutely delicious, The Thames Head near Tarlton serves high quality delicious food, we ate there both nights of our stay - Bob’s bubble & squeak is fantastic!

Cirencester has a wealth of historic buildings and quirky narrow streets. A market and lots of independent shops and places to eat. The people were the friendliest we have met on our many visits to English towns. Great for a short stay.

2 superb spacious parks, one with a great cafe too.
Lots of attractions such as a lovely church, well stocked art centre and brilliant museum with awesome collection of mosaics.

We hadn't meant to stop in Cirencester, but we'd gotten a...
We hadn't meant to stop in Cirencester, but we'd gotten a bit lost in the area and hadn't eaten breakfast. We drove to the middle of town, marveled at the architecture, ate lunch at a delightful cafe just above a bookstore. Just beside the bookstore wad a glassblowing shop, where we watched the artisan and picked up some small souvenirs.
Cirencester is a town that we had zero expectations about and fell in love with. Next time we're back, we'll stay longer and enjoy the ambiance and explore.

Nice old hotel with good food and excellent service/staff. I stayed on my last night of a work trip as my colleague had to leave early, we had previously been staying in a nearby hotel that offered apartments. The Fleece was better in all respects and much cheaper. Breakfast at the Fleece was comparably very good, excellently cooked with much better service (although the quality of the ingredients didn’t seem quite as good as the nearby larger hotel). Really comfy bed and very quiet room (even on the front of the hotel).

The Stump was an absolutely gorgeous place to stay! We were there for 3 nights and the staff were lovely and willing to help, especially Natalie (?). The bed was extremely comfortable and the best pillows we've had at a hotel! The room was impeccablely clean and they've modernised the bathroom whilst keeping its charm. Breakfast was delicious and they serviced our room daily. We loved being outside of town but recommend people to have a car as taxi's are very expensive! We will be staying here again!

A comfortable King room with all the necessary ammeneties for 1 night and a great breakfast in fantastic surroundings. Very quiet room and hotel. Easy 10 min walk into the town centre. Parking opposite hotel entrance.
