Smugglers Cove, Clacton On Sea by Marston's Inns, Kingscliff Hotel, and OYO Pier Hotel got great room view-related reviews from travelers in Clacton-on-Sea.
Clacton is not as busy as Great Yarmouth, which suits me perfectly. Beaches are long, sandy and rocky, relatively quiet and clean. Also there is quite a few public toilets by the beaches. It is very easy to walk from train station to Pier as it is short distance. Shops and restaurants all over the way. Usually I eat in Daveys, which is a good place. Small, but very nice food and staff friendly and helpful. Will be definitely going back to Clacton.
Family favourite, lots of beach sections, friendly staff in eateries, pier, arcades lots to do and see, great location for the air show, and short/ long walks to other beach fronts( jaywick, Walton, frinton) Firework display in july most weekends Online pier wristbands worth buying it if staying the whole day Great location for young and old alike Red arrows on display see photos
Family friendly town with amusements, pier, bars and restaurants to appeal to everyone's taste. Beaches are clean and litter free. Encouragement into bins provided everywhere. Music everywhere. Front of pier has live acts performing on a Saturday night.
Very good area for families with young children. Lots for them to do. Not our usual choice as we are in our late 70s but good base to drive to pretty quieter places nearby. Particularly liked Walton on Naze and Frinton. Even found pie and mash shop. Was excellent.
Our reason for staying in that area was to visit family, not especially to visit the resort. However, we did look around and Clacton is a lovely traditional type seaside town with a good beach and lots of facilities and fun things to do.
The caravan was clean, nothing to say,but we didn't liked the attitude of the owner. She did not answered at the phone, when we get there and we had to stay with the kids in the sun for 2 hours, because we did not know the number of the caravan and the key code.We had to call to Booking to find her number, another phone number.Even the deposit we obtained hardly from her.I definitely not recommend.
Clacton-on-Sea
What a lovely venue. I travelled with my 10 and 12 year old and we absolutely loved Viva Guest House. They were so welcoming, knew my name straight away and learned the kids really quickly. Lovely room with a double and single bed, gorgeous garden where we had our choice of breakfasts. We've stayed in a well known, mid range hotel before and my kids definitely felt Viva was much better. We'll definitely stay again when we visit Clacton.
Clacton-on-Sea
The house was lovely with a beautiful kitchen, good space, booklets with info on how to work everything, really easy to get keys, when needed info on how to work heating host was clear and simple and problem was solved, we love clacton on sea so me and my family had a great time. Thank you
Good value but as we couldn't book table for evening meals and had to go into Clacton we decided to go there for breakfast as well we were under the impression that if you stayed at the hotel you would be able to eat in the restaurant but this doesn't seem to be the case
Clacton-on-Sea
I actually liked the rustic feel of the hotel, but I can see how it wouldn’t be for everyone. It was incredibly close to pubs, the beach, restaurants, I loved that. The staff were friendly too.
Better contact the hotel directly. I paid 157 Pound for one night, the worker said the booking is inflating the prices, if you book directly with hotel it is much cheaper and you get breakfast.
Clacton-on-Sea
The hotel was gracious, clean and very well decorated. The beds were very comfy and the breakfast was great value indeed. The owners were helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble.
