Loved it great space, you definately need a car because it's in the middle of nowhere, unless you have a car then it's somewhere, lots of space to go walking.
We brought our own food and didn't venture for two days, bliss.
Clanfield is a lovely Hampshire village.
Clanfield is a lovely Hampshire village. While it continues to support the need for housing as it expands, there is plenty of green space to enjoy. The Rising Sun, the local pub that was famously 'built in a day', has both accommodation and food. Within 2 miles is the Bat and Ball at Broad Halfpenny Down, recognised as the birth-place of Test Cricket.
There are many walks in the area and the village centre boasts a top-class local butcher and delicatessan. St James is a fine example of a country church.

Beautiful traditional pub, the room is an old Barn with original wood work.
We ate in the restaurant where they served fresh home cooked food which was lovely, just what we needed on a cold winters night.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Would recommend

Great place for an overnight stay, comfortable well spec'd room. Only scored less than excellent due to the very low (for a 6 footer) beams in my room which I managed to avoid apart from one mighty clunk on the head.
Good food, very friendly staff, and a nice quiet location.

Hotel in very peaceful location, very clean and with welcoming , friendly staff. The Gin tasting experience was brilliant with lots of samples and a wonderfully knowledgeable host. The food was excellently cooked and presented. We really enjoyed our stay.
“It's very clean quiet and cozy place. Strong British style with everything you need at hand. We are going to Oxford but most the hotels were fully booked or available with a unreasonable high price so we came to this hotel and enjoyed a satisfied dinner and a pleasant slept. On the next morning we had a 40 mins drive to arrive Oxford. Highly recommend if you have time and want to skip from city.”
“We had lunch, dinner and breakfast which were all lovely. The dinner especially was super. Breakfast was good and there was lots of choice of breakfast. Service was excellent and the bed we had in our room was really comfortable. The hotel had a lovely homely feel and our sons enjoyed the gin pantry selection.”
“The whole experience was a delight , we classed as boutique
because it was a really lovely hotel , at first looked like walking into
the 18th Century , but once inside it as a very pleasant surprise,
the type of place...”
