Good location, food, comfy bed. The staff are doing a great job, and you will be looked after very well. The perfect place to stay if visiting Bettyhill and the surrounding area. Also handy for Ben Klibreck, Ben Loyal and Ben Hope.
The hotel is isolated in the wilderness of Sutherland but that is the charm. The entire area is well worth several days exploring as i am sure you will be rewarded. Orkney for a day trip is possible by the ferry from Scrabster as foot passengers and then use the service bus once on Orkney. Also don`t forget the far north rail line which runs up to Thurso. i would recommend the northern half as a scenic day out by driving to perhaps Lairg (closest station - 12.21 train), going to Thurso where you get over 2 hours before the return train. You will pass right through "flow country" where roads do not venture and must be the wildest and loneliest place in the entire UK but well worth seeing. Earlier on the line goes right by the north sea for several miles so a good contract of scenery. Fares are not expensive either.. Also of note is Dunrobin Castle.
