    We love Darlington.

We love Darlington. There is much to see around - particularly for railway enthusiasts. The valley of the River Tees is beautiful and offers good walks. But note: the picture you show, which is the River Tees, is about 20 miles from Darlington.

I was pleasantly surprised by the genuine warmth of the Darlington people. The food at local restaurants was very good as was the atmosphere in the local pubs. I was impressed with Darlington's railway heritage and the pride and esteem in which it is held by many of the visitors to the museum.

Darlington has a lot to offer, all be it like many towns it has suffered in recent years from the decline of the high street. That said there has been a lot of investment in the town centre. Darlington is surrounded by some beautiful countryside and coastline, making it an excellent location from which to tour County Durham and North Yorkshire

What I liked most was the atmosphere and the homely feeling. I loved the garden and all the artwork around the house. The bed was supremely comfortable and I had a lovely bath too. The location is excellent for airport and motorway network and the restaurant round the corner was nice. The hosts are very friendly and amenable and the check-in is no fuss. Pauline provides clear instructions and communication is faultless. Felt at home immediately, thank you.

Superb rural location close to Barnard Castle and Darlington. Very comfortable accommodation and good breakfast at a very competitive price. On site restaurant with a comprehensive menu , good quality but perhaps slightly pricey. It's a Best Western so you know what to expect and it delivers. I would be happy to recommend this hotel

We have stayed there in the past and it is always good. This time through no fault of the hotel there was a power cut. No electricity from 4.30pm to 9.30pm. We would have eaten in the hotel but went elsewhere had to drive to Darlington. There was no recompense not even a free drink. A bit disappointing.

I travelled to Darlington to meet a friend who was unwell. He had arranged dinner at a local public house so I did not make use of any of the hotel’s facilities. I found the staff extremely helpful and the room, considering the cost, was extremely good value.
