There is only 1 Bar in Dufftown and it’s basic but has a dart board but that’s your lot.now as others lost business to Covid. There’s an Indian which is average and take away which is basic. Advise to book places to eat in Aberlour to avoid disappointment. Whisky tours only accept online bookings.

The people were friendly.
The people were friendly. Unfortunately the tourist information office had been shut down. There were plenty of distilleries nearby if you had a car. There were good walking tracts if you had a medium level of fitness. There is only one pub as far as I know but I would recommend the restaurant as the food which was excellent.

Charming little town in the heart of whisky country!
Charming little town in the heart of whisky country! Glenfiddich Distillery with its excellent visitor facilities situated in the town and several other distilleries open to view in the locality. An interesting ruin, Balvenie Castle, to explore on the outskirts of the town. Dufftown also boasts its own heritage railway which is definitely worth a visit. Beautiful walks and lovely scenery around the town.

Only a few restaurants in and around town make sure you reserve ahead. If you plan on going to the distillery's or the Speyside cooperage also make sure you book ahead. Dufftown golf course is public and is nearby and will rent you decent clubs. Great course. ACE taxis if you had too much good Whisky.

We stayed for 8 nights during the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival and the location was pretty central for many of the events. Lots of lovely places to visit during the day in the surrounding area.
Loved the Dufftown Glassworks, a little coffeeshop come art gallery, and the Seven Stills restaurant was extremely good for a special meal.
There are only three places left in Dufftown serving hot food in the evening - even the local chippie has closed down. The only cafe, The Coffee Pot, opens at 9am (10am at the weekend), which was too late for us for breakfast, and closes at 3pm, so we didn't use it during our visit. Everything else has closed down and there are no signs of any other businesses moving in to take their place. The only other option for an evening meal is to go further afield, and the buses stop running very early evening, so you have to either drive or take a cab. We were there for the whisky festival, so driving was obviously out of the question, and the taxi cabs were totally booked up (because it was the whisky festival...). We were fortunate that we had cooking facilities at our accommodation and could make do.
Pretty disappointed with the public transport. I believe that they put on extra services in previous years for the festival, but not this year. Even one single late bus would have been useful - on the biggest week of the year for tourism the last bus leaving Elgin for Dufftown was 6.35pm!

The town is beautiful and clean, but we couldn’t find a restaurant which was open at around 14:30 on a Tuesday after we finished our whiskey tour. None of the nearby castles were open. I’d avoid being there on a Monday or Tuesday as most restaurants only open on Wednesdays.
No trip to Whiskey country in Scotland is complete without a visit to Dufftown, and The Whiskey Capital Inn is the perfect place to stay. This wonderful old building is lovingly cared for by the staff and is quiet and peaceful. We had a lovely evening walk in a woods less than half a mile up the hill from the hotel. The other hidden treasure in Dufftown is the historic train that runs from Dufftown to Keith. This short trip is relaxing and harkens back to a slower time and is worth every minute.
The location was great, lovely fantastic spacious room, spotlessly clean.
The host was friendly and very helpful, I slept so well I thought I was at home, the bed was very comfortable.
Great place to stay would highly recommend and would visit again.
To Make a point I work all over the UK and stay in many hotel's and B&B's and this is at the very top of places I have ever stayed in. 10/10
The cottage was beautifully developed and decorated to a very high standard. There was also a great outside space and we made use of the BBQ. Dufftown is a great wee town and we walked our wee dog’s legs off! Weather was terrific when we were there, but we would have enjoyed our stay nonetheless, as there’s so much to do and see in Moray. Thoroughly recommend this cottage
The location was within minutes of the centre of Dufftown. Linda, the owner, was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent and the room was spacious and very clean. As well the location was great for getting to nearby towns, local whisky distilleries and the Speyside cooperage.
The house is in a great location near the center of town. The layout works well with the bedrooms upstairs. The kitchen had everything needed. The entire property was exceptionally clean. Parking at the front door was easy.
its a nice cozy and old fashioned house on the main street of Dufftown
close to everything, well equipped, large baths nice beds and a large living room and dining room
the value for money was above the charts
Very enjoyable stay with very friendly staff. I stayed with a group of bikers and we parked the bikes directly outside the hotel. we would stay again. Breakfast was very good and nothing was a problem.
The hostess was welcoming, and made the best home made breakfast. the room was very clean and quiet. Comfortable bed, good shower. There is parking available on the street next to the accommodation.
We came up for Dufftown Games, location was fantastic, apartment was clean & tidy. Could do with labels on immersion heaters in kitchen as it was day 2 before we had hot water from the taps!!
Excellent breakfast, perfect location, superb owners. We feel very lucky to have found Gowanbrae for our stay in Dufftown. Would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing trip to the area.
Wonderful locations, very friendly host, great accommodations, this was the perfect place to stay for our holiday. Sue was so nice and breakfast was delicious.
