Located in Dufftown in the Grampian region, DAVAAR B&B provides accommodations with free WiFi. Well situated in the centre of the town and was within walking distance of Glenfiddich Distillery for a tour and tasting. The bedroom was comfortable and warm with a good en-suite. The owners were very friendly and gave an excellent recommendation to the stramash that was taking place on the Monday evening. We had a marvellous welcome and had a great evening of Scottish Music. An unexpected and most enjoyable event. Breakfast was very good and my husband’s choice of kipper was so delicious and juicy. My porridge was very good as was the scrambled egg and salmon. Excellent company around the communal table.
Boasting a garden and free WiFi, Morven is located in Dufftown. At the property, rooms are equipped with a desk and a flat-screen TV. Guest rooms include a wardrobe. Very nice place, the host was very kind and answered all our questions. The town is very small but some houses for accommodation are 2-3 km away. This one is nearby the central square, small shops, restaurants and supermarket, the best location.
Set in Dufftown, 18 mi from Elgin, Parkmore Holiday Cottages offers a garden and free WiFi. Beautiful cottage located in a quiet area. Perfect place for whisky lovers (like we) for making tours in distilleries nearby. Spacious bedrooms, kitchen and living room. Great owners! I definitely recommend! (Google Maps show slightly incorrect location, still there are clear marks how to get to the property)

We would recommend the Dufftown and Keith railway. The volunteer staff are fantastically helpful, the cafe at Dufftown station produces exceptional food and has great service in a characterful location, and the train journey is scenic and relaxing, very enjoyable for young children. We would also recommend Balvenie Castle (it was closed when we were there but is worth a look, which you can do while walking around the Dufftown footpath network), Auchindoun Castle which is on a fantastic hilltop viewpoint and if you have a car, Huntly Castle and Portsoy and Findlater Castle with its nearby quiet sandy beach. We stayed at Alderwood B&B in Miltown Of Auchindoun which is just a few miles from Dufftown on the Huntly road and would highly recommend this as a place to stay.
Right in the middle of the beautiful Scottish countryside. A paradise for whisky drinkers. Several well known distilleries in the town and many others within a few miles. Not too far to the fabulous Cairngorms national park.
Perfectly placed for distillery visits and to explore the beautiful Speyside region. The Seven Stills Malt Whisky Bar & Restaurant had a great selection of whiskies and other other Scottish drinks and delicious freshly prepared food made on the premises. We found all the distilleries and restaurants we visited very welcoming to visitors.
The distillery tour was really interesting. We only had a little wander around the town as it was very wet and very windy. It's quite a pretty town and if you're into walking it would be really good. One of the pubs was closed for the winter and another had sadly, closed down due to I'll health, but there were a couple of others to choose. We only went in the Commercial Inn, which does nice food. There's an Indian and Chinese restaurant next door to each other. We chose the Indian which was nice and believe the Chinese is equally as good.
Cute little town. Did the speyside scotch walking tour with michelle. Amazing!! Balvenie castle was also breathtaking. Charcuterie and cheese board from seven stills was mouth watering and topped off with balvenie scotch ice cream.
Great little town. We visited Balvenie castle, briefly toured the Glenfiddich distillery, had a great cup of coffee and a cake at the brilliant Sidings Cafe, which was in an old train cart and did the Balvenie distillery tour. It is an amazing tour with a great host. In three hours you tour the entire distillery, starting with the grain fields and ending in the barrel warehouses. You get to fill out your own bottle of cask strength Balvenie and afterwards there is a nice tasting. It's a really extensive but down to earth tour and really worth the money. Book in advance!
