Visitor beware!! unless you have a purpose to go to that particular area, don't go!! The facility has most things you need, as is typical of the impersonal hotel chain and I found it rewarding when I eventually found it, as was only looking to stay the one night. No local facilities for parks, shops etc.
Beautiful hidden gem of a town in southern Scotland. I was here for just to see Frank Turner at the Big Burns Supper but wish I could’ve stayed longer. The setting is so picturesque. The architecture of the buildings and bridges was beautiful and the towns rich history was a joy to discover. The people were all so kind and the food, drink, entertainment were all excellent. The museums in town (Camera Obscura in particular) have an amazing amount of info and artifacts for their size. Dumfries I will be back!
Dumfries is a good central location for many historic abbeys and castles. Also many Robert Burns locations. The city is a bit tired, and the restaurants are ok. Overall a good stop on a road trip thru the Galloway region.
I stayed for one night in Dumfries as a passing traveler and apart from seeking out a local restaurant for an evening meal I did not explore the town. The overall ambience of the area in which the accommodation was located was good.
I went to Dumfries for ancestral research and was not aware of the rich history this place has. With links to Lady Devorgilla, Robert the Bruce, Robert Burns and G.M Barry to name but a few. I learned and discovered quite a lot while I was in Dumfries. A great place to visit and many attractions are in walking distance of the town centre. I would recommend doing a tour with Solway Tours, they are fabulous and worth every penny.
We liked the river in Dumfries, also the fact that it is a good shopping center, yet very close to the seaside and beautiful countryside. We. Thought the Queensbury hotel was clean and comfortable, for one night's stay. The shower was very good and the owner and staff very helpful and friendly

We had a really lovely welcome from Terry and Lynne and they couldn't do enough for you. Hotel is absolutely wonderfu with plenty of parking and a 10 minute walk into town. We had a family room even though there was only two of us and there was plenty of room with really comfortable beds a big wardrobe area and 2 bathrooms. We only stayed for one night because we were on a whistle-stop tour of Scotland but would happily have stayed there for a week.

This property sits back off the A76, 8 miles north of Dumfries. A quiet rural location great for travellers who do not want to tackle town centre and parking challenges. Very fancy mirror in the bathroom that plays music via Bluetooth. The standard of welcome was exceptional. The food is worth the visit in its own right.

I was a late booker, but managed to get a room. The owner was extremely pleasant, friendly and helpful. The hotel is right in the middle of the town with all amenities around it. It is a wondeful historic building typical of its time and atmosphere with an extensive bar and a restaurant facility

Convenient location in the centre of Dumfries, walking distance from pubs and supermarket. Good breakfast. Great value. Colin, the owner, gave us some great tips on places to visit including Sandyhills beach which was very quiet and Caerlaverock Castle, the only triangular castle in the uk.
