Friendly and helpful staff and the room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. The Glenlossie highly exceeded our expectations. We booked a twin room with shared bathroom as we just needed somewhere cheap to sleep and break down our journey from Anglesey. The room was comfortable, clean and had a great selection of tea, coffee, biscuits and sweets included. The breakfast was exceptional, with the option of porridge, fruit, cereal, yoghurt, bacon, sausage, haggis, potato scones, hash browns, beans, egg and tomato. Plus, a selection of teas, coffee and fruit juice. The staff were so helpful when we woke up to a disgusting surprise in the morning and went out of their way to help us. We would certainly stay here again

lovely old town down by the river is nice you can see otters sometimes amazing old store called barkers worth a visit as is all the Robert burns museums really old pubs such as the hole in the way really friendly people and entertainment the old creighton royal hospital site really worth a visit the only down side is not many good places to eat
Arrived in Dumfries on Sunday, and although the town centre was quiet...and many shops closed there is a good feel to the town. Enjoyed a walk along the river on both sides, and an enjoyable walk through Mabie Park in the outskirts of the town.
Everything was really good apart from the lack of access to the kitchen and there was no tv in the room. Although it was the cleanest place i have visited in couple of years and i have been in many places.
Really lovely town. Although while we were there the river nith burst its banks and it was so heartbreaking witnessing the businesses on the whitesands area, which is so historic and should be lovely, struggling to mop out their businesses. The impression was very much that they are not being supported at all by the local authorities who seemed to be doing virtually nothing to assist. Very upsetting state of affairs to witness first hand.
Friendly locals, very interesting history, would particularly recommend Dumfries museum and Camera Obscura and the Robert Burns Museum and house. Some great restaurants, including The Corner restaurant and bar and La Dolche Vita
Excellent breakfasts and choice. Comfortable, spacious accommodation. On beautiful grounds, with great walks. Ideal for our stay and have already recommended it to someone visiting the area in the next couple of weeks. Would definitely return if in the area again.

Second time i've stayed and again the people who run Hamilton House were wonderful The room I had with the double bed was clean, very comfortable and I had plenty of space and was worth every penny. The breakfast was delicious and the dining facilities were warm and welcoming. Hamilton House is close to the train station and not far from the town center so it's ideal for anyone whos' never visited/stayed in Dumfries before. I am really looking forward to going back again soon.

Great accommodation, had everything we needed. Very modern and great location, easy walk to town centre and lovely riverside walks . Perfect base for exploring along the Dumfries and Galloway coast with lots of lovely places to go and was so nice to come back after a day out and be able to relax in the Stables outside space which was great with a table and 6 chairs as well as 2 comfy reclining loungers Would highly recommend as we thoroughly enjoyed our time here

Colin the owner was super friendly and helpful, his cooked breakfast was excellent! We liked that we could grab a coffee to take away in the morning too. The rooms were large and bright but would benefit from a lick of paint and new curtains. The location was spot on, 5 minutes from Dumfries town centre and 2 minutes from a kids playground and café. Colin allowed us to leave our car in the car park before and after check in.
The staff were over and above expectations, the hotel and facilities are just what you need after a long day of travelling. Myself and my friend were lucky enough to stay whilst there was a tribute act on and the price including a four course meal was excellent value for money. Would highly recommend this place where ever your destination in and around dumfries.
