Situated along the rolling hills 10 miles north of Dumfries town, Boreland Farm features a variety of farm activities and animals. Such a spacious, beautiful place to stay. Our host was so very accommodating and helpful recommending the great Italian restaurant. Delicious! Beautiful farm with sheep, rock fences. Husband enjoyed his walk there. We ate our first haggis here. What a cook our host is! We will return if available and travel to this area again. I highly recommend.

This is a lovely b&b. Very comfortable and quiet on a farm. Friendly host & hostess. Good breakfast. The satnav does not take you to property but our hosts sent very good directions by email and text so no problem getting there.
Boreland farm is a couple of miles away from Dunscore. There is no local shop, fuel station, restaurant or cafe. I passed through Dunscore every day but never stopped there. Thornhill, 10 miles or so north of Boreland farm has all the amenities you'll need. Dumfries is about 12 miles south of the b&b.
The area is great for those wanting a "get away from it all" holiday. There are a number of good restaurants within a few miles distance and although,(as you would expect in a very rural area) the roads are quite narrow, they are virtually free of traffic:making it easy to get around. The scenery in this part of Scotland is second to none, particularly at this time of year. and there are lots of interesting places to go. Drumlanrig Castle is a must for those who like outdoor activities such as walking, cycling, photography etc and.It can be enjoyed at any time as the grounds are open all year round - although the Castle is closed during the Winter.
