The accommodation and the hosts were 5star, we couldn’t fault anything. The room and the public areas were spotlessly clean, the breakfast superb. We just wished we had stayed longer as the property was ideally situated for exploring the area. Dunster Mill is definitely a cut above the rest thank you
Glorious Dunster. And devoid of droves of tourists because of the Pandemic. It is such a romantic place, steamy with history, quaint and adorable. A place to return to again and again, and set next to the incredible, barren and demanding moors. Perfect!
Lovely little village, the castle grounds and castle are a fantastic site to see, definitely worth a visit whilst you're there. My only complaint with the village is that a "super market" or even a general shop wouldn't go amiss! Although there are a few super markets within 5-10mins drive so nothing major!
Beautiful little village - people are very friendly / nice little shops - very quaint! Good base to be as you can travel into Devon within an hour and to other surrounding areas and then come back into peace and quiet!! The only thing you need to do is book your evening meals in the local restaurants/ pubs in advance - we had to go into minehead for our first evening meal as all the restaurants (there are about 5) were booked and they all only offer Sunday lunch no evening meals - we ended up with a takeaway when we were there - a little forward planning and you can be sorted - we will definitely be going back!!
A piece of history yet comfortable to stay in for a modern traveller. Wonderful character, great for walking whether you wish to potter into the various little shops and cafes or if you fancy something longer around the village and hills further afield. Leave your car in the large car park before you get into the village and then remain on foot. Easy walk everywhere, or a taxi. It’s gorgeous.
The little medieval town of Dunster is so pretty. The Yarn Market is lovely. The castle is well worth a visit with stunning views all around. There are plenty of places to eat and drink - The terrace garden of the Luttrell Arms is a must. There is a 1.5 mile walk to the beach which from there you can walk easily either to Minehead or the other way to Blue Anchor and Watchet - both well worth it. The beach is clean and open with loads of space to exercise dogs! For a bit more entertainment and the usual beach activities, Minehead is a short drive away with plenty of shops and other facilities.
Breakfast choices were excellent and dinner menus have a good selection.Service levels are very good considering the serious shortage in the hospitality industry and overall the hotel is probably nearer 4star rather than their current 3.The hotel has no car park so you might need to use the public parking facilities nearby but the Luttrell will reimburse your costs. This is a really lovely hotel and cannot wait to return.
excellent breakfast. Eggs Benedict outstanding! Very good tea/coffee and very satisfying in every way hosts, John&Kisa are just outstanding....extremely welcoming and friendly. Room was lovely We've already re-booked for next year...just love it Reeves restaurant opposite is outstanding, and the walks around the village and castle wonderful

I have visited Dunster for 55 years but this was my first stay at Exmoor House Hotel and I was very impressed. We stayed in room 2 and despite it being at the front of the hotel it was quiet and comfortable. Breakfasts were excellent and overall we would certainly recommend the hotel to anyone.
