The location of the cottage is in close proximity to all the attractions (within 20 mins car ride). the cottage itself was beautiful and had everything and more that was needed for a nice, comfortable few days stay, be it tabs for the dishwasher or the laundry, plates, wine glasses and cups to use, all the cooking utensils, a cute little dining table and lots of room to store bags and clothes....you name it you get it! and the hosts were fabulous! very easy to get a hold of and very very very friendly and kept offering services to make the stay even more comfortable!

Located in East Cowes in the Isle of Wight region, Marina flat with fab view, South Facing Balcony, Private Parking and Wifi features a balcony and river views. I do not give Exceptional to any of the places I stay at other than my own ( !!! ) So for the price, the view, the position & the ambience the flat presented was perfect for my Requirements. A homely feel , all in a good way. Knowing both the island and the Cowes area well , it was perfect to be able to engage with the "busy" parts of "Cowes" (both E AND W )without compromising peace and quiet when one wants it. Very easy to access by foot / public transport or car . Will be staying again ,here when the occasion arises
Easy Cowes isn’t as big as Cowes, but they have a few shops, small Co-op and some restaurants, we ate one night at Sea Breeze fish and chip restaurant, the chips were lovely, and very large potions. An ideal base, close to the ferry port, and most other places.
St.Mildreds church was nice to visit for the history. Overall it’s the scenery of the Island & little villages which was nice to see. Osborne House was unfortunately closed to the public, but the grounds were open. A car for an Island visit is a must,I would suggest.
Looks slightly industrialised upon departure from ferry but Osborne is worth a visit and if the chain ferry is working ( for a change) West Cowes is definite must. If Red Funnel is to move the Red Jet across the water, as per the rumours, then East Cowes most definitely needs a overhaul to make it more ascetically pleasing to visitors with more substance in terms of shops. We need to sell the Island to visitors and show them what it has to offer, at present and unfortunately East Cowes does not do this.
East Cowes where the ferry docks from Southampton is a small place with a few shops, however there is a large Waitrose. It's nice to walk along the seafront & there is a paddling pool in the children's play park. The caravan park is a popular place to stay & apartments are available to rent for holidays there. There is also a large church.
Enjoyed the visit to the Island, nice and pleasant with good weather making the short trip worth while, went to Carisbrooke Castle a little expensive per person for a walk around and no entertainment what so ever, see children very bored and think that some kind of free entertainment should be included to make things a lttle bit more interesting, Lavender farm no longer on the Island although the signs are still in place we looked for it and wasted a couple of hours driving around, The Yaughts and boats in the harbour where great to view, The Ferry was very expensive for such a short trip on Whitelink, over £100 return making it probably one of the most expensive ferry trips we have been on
The location has shops ect ,one needs the chain ferry gave access to the lovely town of cowes, but you can drive round. The Island is small enough to explore in a few days but their is so much to do you could easily occupy a family for a fortnight.
East Cowes
Compact but comfortable, and very nicely presented, little house in a small courtyard development in East Cowes. We had our two (young adult) daughters and our dog with us and it didn't feel crowded. Good location, easy access to West Cowes with the chain ferry adjacent. Vida's neighbour Noel is one of the permanent residents there and a great source of local knowledge such as up to date recommendations on dog friendly places to eat.
East Cowes
This was one of the most delightful breaks we have had. The hotel was excellent and likewise and particularly the staff from beginning to end. A most relaxing visit and very good food and value. I would be delighted to answer any questions by prospective visitors. We shall be back.
10 minutes walk from East Cowes Ferry Terminal, Ferry to West Cowes and Bus Stop. The Lifeboat pub nearby was nice. Also walkable to Osborne House 20-30 mins. As described, a simple home stay, with a friendly host.
