East Cowes - and the rest of the Isle of Wight - is simply charming and exudes history at every turn. This was our second visit there and we will be back again. Be sure to visit Osborne House and Carisbrooke Castle. Even if you're not a history buff, you will love them. The people here are simply lovely!
David, the host, was very welcoming and accommodating. The main breakfast dish varied each day and was excellent. We are vegan and were well catered for in every sense. The room was very comfortable and spacious, with home-made cookies provided each day. There was plenty of free parking on-site. The location is a ten-to-fifteen-minute walk to East Cowes centre, the ferries to Southampton and the floating bridge to Cowes. It's also very close to Osborne House, although we didn't visit it on this trip.
Amazing location, the kids absolutely loved the experience of living on a boat. The space and uniqueness made it a proper part of the holiday, rather than the usual cramped hotel rooms we normally stayed in. The weather was perfect. Sam, the owner was always available to answer any questions, and knew all the fascinating history of the ship.
The pub/hotel was clean and well kept. The staff were very helpful. We stayed in the Arthur room at the top of the property. It was very quiet and felt just like home.
Nice sea view Excellent location Near to East Cowes Ferry station
Friendly, helpful and efficient staff in ALL areas of the hotel
