Our own 'ship' for the night. Such a great experience. The living quarters are exceptionally beautiful and well appointed. Very comfortable. Quiet and private. The restaurant on the marina was good. It was nice to have coffee on the deck and watch the marina wake up.

The host was simply amazing. She should charge more per night that is an absolute no brainer if you’re like me and have been staying in hostels and want a break in a room of your own. Completely exceeded my expectations and can’t recommend this place enough. Totally good to bring a family as well.

Cowes for me is the gateway to the Isle of Wight.

Cowes for me is the gateway to the Isle of Wight. East Cowes is where the vehicle ferry arrives and departs and there is more parking on this side than in the main town which is a chain ferry ride away. If you are a nautical person and enjoy the sea and everything that goes on in it this is a mecca for you.

East Cowes isn't really a tourist area, it is mostly residential. It's ideal for a base if you have your own transport, and don't mind driving round the island. The good thing is if you are sailing with Red Funnel, you are literally only just up the road. Waitrose, a doctors surgery and 2 pharmacies are all nearby, as is Osborne (Queen Victoria's island home). I think Osborne is the only nearby tourist attraction. I found East Cowes to be very quiet. Ideal after a long day exploring and having fun. However, if you want to stay right in the middle of things, you will be disappointed.

We were only there for 2 days, went to Obourne House and the Steam Railway, really enjoyed both. Also walked along the prom at Shanklin Beach. We are in PREGO (Italian Reastraunt in East Cowes), very good food at reasonable prices. Ate in 1 day, take away the next, both lovely

There is really nothing in East Cowes, however it is a 2 min ferry ride to Cowes. The ferry goes every few mins, either foot passenger or car. No booking needed. The ferry puts you in the middle of town. Highly recommend to stay in East Cowes and ferry to Cowes. Far less expensive.

An easy walk down to the waterfront. Take the floating bridge {chain ferry} across to Cowes. Lovely little town to walk around. Good pub called The Lifeboat within walking distance of the Prince of Wales, good food and great view of the boats.

The house is beautiful and spotlessly cleaned. The house mixes lovely authentic woody textures with modern touches and a simply gorgeous kitchen and bathroom. There's an enclosed garden and with only a few minutes walk you can be at a small, quiet beach in East Cowes or at the chain ferry going into Cowes. Within a 30 to 45 minute drive you can access the entire island. We would stay here again!
