A very nice hotel with a great staff. When we arrived I told my name and was given a package with our key, WiFi password and breakfast information immediately, everything was ready. The staff helped us bring our bicycles to a storage room where they were locked overnight. Dinner was excellent! The wait staff were very nice. The photographs in the bar area are worth a visit alone.

The Marine pub serves great food and good portion sizes.

The Marine pub serves great food and good portion sizes. The main entrance is on Seaside Road but the beer garden entrance is not even 2 minutes walk from the cottage. The Jade Garden Chinese takeaway on seaside road was good too, being only a few minutes away the food was cooked to order and hot when we got back to the cottage with it. The Victorian Tea Room on the pier is well staffed, made to order and a great place for afternoon tea. It is very easy to walk around Eastbourne although there were some roadworks going on while we were there they didn’t bother us as the car was parked on Saturday we arrived and not moved till the following Saturday when we left. The Neon Crazy Golf on pier was fun and passed almost an hour as there were 4 of us playing. The Devonshire Theatre had a great show on. Loosely based on Morecombe and Wise it was very funny and well presented. The Dotto Train is always worth a trip and as Wednesday was a bit damp we went on it to Sovereign Harbour. A trip around the shopping area and lunch in The Harvester Restaurant at the marina. Good food served in a friendly manner with unlimited salad, what more could you need on a wet lunchtime. Eastbourne Airbourne was on from 14th-17th August and was the reason I chose that week to go to Eastbourne and it didn’t disappoint. There is nothing better than watching the planes from a great position on the promenade or seafront.

    The walk along the seafront.

The walk along the seafront. It was a real pleasure to walk along the seafront and the pier every day. The town has obviously had a lot of money spent on it fairly recently and we loved the pedestrianised areas and the variety of shops and places to eat. The back streets were awful and gave us a bad impression of the town when we first arrived and were looking for the centre. The area around our b and b needs work doing as lots of the buildings had fallen into disrepair and holiday entertainments had closed down.

Seafront road was very wide and parking available out of season. More parking needed on seafront. Plenty of space for more car parking spaces. Shoping centre good. 3 theatres also available and not expensive.

A nice spot for a short break.

A nice spot for a short break. Longer stay fine if you are prepared to travel away from the town. The beach is pebbly and quite steep so not the best for small children. Handy for Beachy Head/Birling gap etc The open top bus (hop on hop off) is a worthwhile trip costing £12 for adults stopping at all the major tourist spots. The round trip is about an hour, and the ticket lasts for 24 hours. The Victorian tea rooms on the pier are a great place for a pot of tea or a coffee and a bite to eat. On the subject of food Gr eat (a Greek restaurant ) was a great place to eat!

We came for the steampunk weekend. Everyone is very friendly, the beach and town are clean and it is a pleasure to stroll along the prom. Not happy to have to pay £1 for the public toilets though - they are not that much of a pleasure to use!

There is a nice shopping precinct, an excellent bus service and plenty of restaurants and a theatre. Sadly the gardens along the prom have gone the same way as many other seaside towns - no flowers just all-weather grasses. The pier was disappointing; at 6pm nothing was open.

Superb position right on the seafront but also quite easy to find a parking space. Warm welcome from Mark and parking permit was most welcome too! Our room (No 6) was very clean and the view was amazing. Bed was comfy and everything was spotless. Freshly cooked breakfast by Yvette and Mark was really good, best poached eggs I've ever had in a guesthouse or hotel! Lots of thoughtful touches like a small bottle of fresh milk available to take to your room. We will return next time we are in Eastbourne.

Friendly welcome, excellent location for the seafront and town centre. Great value for money. Parking voucher amazing value. Tea, coffee, kettle in the room great. Furniture, decoration dated but who cares when you get a good night’s sleep for a very reasonable rate. (Except for the guy next door who snored loudly in the early hours).
